Form 0008 help needed!

I am struggling with the general application. I am applying for permanent residency with my common law partner sponsoring me. On this form, 0008, I have filled out the first part, which makes me the principal applicant I think, but for the second part of it, it will not let me remove the part saying dependent. Should I put my sponsor as my dependent? I am so confused. The questions don't seem to make sense to me if I do that?

"Date and place of your last entry to Canada?"

If you have no dependents leave it blank any carry on to the next applicable question. Your sponsor is not your dependent. It isn't necessary to remove it if you haven't added one in the first place.
