I am more concerned about things like expiring PCC and Meds, some might expire as officer didn't touch them as they were on strike. So this means, they will inconvenient the applicant to go through that process whereas the file could have been complete in the stipulated time?

I hope the management there extends that as it will be insanely unfair and painful

Not sure why but it seems this govt is hell bent to destroying Canada's wonderful image

You will have to redo your medical. I haven't heard anyone being asked to redo their police certificates.

Quite a number of people get asked to send in new police certificates when their file has had a long processing time.

Its ridiculous that they ask for it at stage 1.

For eg., FBI PCC - Expires 4 Sept 2013

Now due to strike, files will be touched on slower pace, so if it goes past that date then they might ask for FBO - ie., another 2 months wait, if there was no strike, the file would have been complete before
I am specifically speaking about our case, where meds have passed, passport sent - and all docs sent, it was just around the corner. I still have 2.5 months
As per GMCS, due date for my file is 16th June ( the officer will review everything ) -but since the strike, will they bother

You are not the only one who has to go through this. This was going on prior to the strike. Personally I think that whatever costs you incur for expired documents should be refunded by CIC.

affected offices include:
Ottawa, London, Paris, Tokyo, Tel Aviv, Ramallah, Dublin, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Delhi and Chandigarh

Cost - well I don't mind paying X 2 = but its the time factor to get FBI, passport in India ( folks here visting, need passport for FBI, another hassle to request passport from ND, and get it mailed or have someone bringit here) + lucky to get decent fingerprint card, as my mothers fingers could only get 1 out of 4 prints to work

It's a disgusting terrible nightmare

I love how they claim paying half their dry cleaning and relocating their furniture as a "perk"....and one that is "enjoyed". LOL.

My daughter's student visa is pending? Can anyone please let me know when the strike will end and visas are issued? :(

No one can tell you that.
