PAFSO is hearing it from the folks, here are few comments

While I don't know the details of the dispute and the wage struggle, my feedback is that it is unfair on the people who have applied for a visa or an extension unbeknownst and who have nothing to do with this, whose passports are stuck with CIC indefinitely and can't travel anywhere. As it is, my experience and other people's experience is that the Canada visa process can be fairly opaque, and this only makes it worse. Atleast if I knew about this, I could have decided whether to send my passport in. Atleast you should clear the backlog before you head off or give a heads up. Between this tussle between the govt and the union, it is the public that's left in the lurch.
PAFSO strike: Just wondering if the PASFO officers feel better causing pain and frustration to thousands of other people who depend on them through their visa decision?
Unfortunately, my family submitted Canadian tourist visa applications a month before the strike in London and Moscow. As the result of the strike, not getting the visas, I lost more than $3,000 and ruined the family holiday. The story would not be complete without saying that we are struggling to retrieve our passports from both Canadian embassies; they are not responding! Our son is not able to come to visit us in England without his passport. I cannot travel to the US on business and to Ukraine to see my 82-year old Dad without my passport. All flights booked. They say they implemented contingency measures but I can't believe this as they are not able to return our passports; looks like no one is in office!
Do you guys realize that you all are being selfish at the moment about the equal pay and keep thousands of families apart from eachother? I have been waiting for my husband for months and months now and the processing times keep increasing and now this strike of yours. DO you have any idea how we couples go through everyday of our lives? we are newly married...and stay apart ....working hard everyday to stay in touch and make sure that nothing ges wrong. any other country is better at giving visas and processing applications regarding spousal PRs. But too bad, i live in Canada. the point of this spousal application is to reunite couples.....but what you guys actually do there is ...make them stay away from eachother and kill them with time. U guys are staying with your families ....most of you and ....so you have no idea how much it hurts to stay away from the love of your life and not knowing when this time is gonna be over. i wish you guys get to feel that once in your lifetime at least and then you all will know.
Like others on here, I echo the same questions. Pafso claims the rate paid is demeaning and demoralizing. Well, let your union members step into our shoes for a few months and tell me what is demoralizing and demeaning. We applied last year, did everything to the letter, yet time frame targets are never meet, costing people even more money to get items redone. Try speaking to someone at the call centre, it seams that if any, know their jobs. Call 5 times(if you can get thorough) and get 5 different answers. I have zero sympathy for your members. Currently I can not work, change my licence or get provincial health due to constant delays, include the fact i have now lost all money paid into CPP and EI. I can not even leave the country for a family emergency. The level hopelessness caused by your members is not restricted to myself, but is wide spread.
