For spousal sponsorship, is high blood pressure grounds for additional medical tests?

Just got back from my medical. My BP was elevated (150/90) and the doc said that it should ideally be 140, but that it wasn't likely to be a big deal, and could even be because of nerves (I was nervous indeed).

Will CIC insist I see a cardiologist for this? Part of me thinks no, since spousal applicants are exempt from the "excessive demand" part. I saw a post on here (admittedly in one of the other PR forums on here) where some guy had to go to a cardiologist which ended up costing over 4k!

I do not have that kind of money - this PR application is already bleeding me dry.

Also, I had a serum creatinine test ordered, so now I'm worried of what they found on the dipstick urine test. The people at the bloodwork lab did say that my doc has a habit of ordering these tests very often.

That person must have had significant cardiac testing and perhaps in the US. Extra cardiac testing, if necessary, should not be close to that much.

Ah, maybe that was it. I think it was an EKG he got done. US sounds probable now that you mention it.

But in my case, do you think CIC would further me for more tests for 150/90?

That's a possibility, but unlikely.
