Gauri I agree with your understanding of reference letter but it is not what CHC has defined it. Please find below the quote from New Delhi Visa Office Specific Instructions

"original and up-to-date letters of reference from your past and current employers. Letters must be written on company letterhead and show the company’s full address, telephone and fax numbers, and be stamped with the company’s official seal.
Letters must include all of the following information:
•the specific period of your employment with the company
•the positions you have held during the period of employment and the time spent in each position
•your main responsibilities and duties in each position
•your total annual salary plus benefits
•the signature of your immediate supervisor or the personnel officer of the company
•a business card of the person signing"

Your current dated experience letter in above format will server as reference letter and are totally acceptable

So my thinking was right. I applied on Nov 24 and my visa office is london. and CIO is not processing appilcations for london office. Anybody from the list is from London office???

Doglover how are you.sir my application received in 10th december 2009 at CIC,Uk and they have been given me 8-12 months under NOC 1111.first my applcation was processed in nova scotia then sydney.now CIC,Uk.
i want to confirm what they will do with my application? i also have job offer letter from canada.

I am sharmilas, from London. But, i have selected my visa office as India, ND. we can communicate, as my application reached at NS on 22nd dec. 2009.
