Gauri I agree with your understanding of reference letter but it is not what CHC has defined it. Please find below the quote from New Delhi Visa Office Specific Instructions

"original and up-to-date letters of reference from your past and current employers. Letters must be written on company letterhead and show the company's full address, telephone and fax numbers, and be stamped with the company's official seal.
Letters must include all of the following information:
•the specific period of your employment with the company
•the positions you have held during the period of employment and the time spent in each position
•your main responsibilities and duties in each position
•your total annual salary plus benefits
•the signature of your immediate supervisor or the personnel officer of the company
•a business card of the person signing"

Your current dated experience letter in above format will server as reference letter and are totally acceptable

Gauri, sorry about the delay in the response. I was missing in action for few days as I was moving to a new house. I haven't gotten my Internet connection in the new place yet. I am also payed online and sent my application with the receipt and the 5620 form, but I didn't get any refund mail back, So what do you think about my case? My application arrived Dec 8th too.
