Hi.
I received a letter to physically appear for a Citizenship Interview and documents verification. I was out of country and flew in just to get this done. The interview was done today and all went through perfectly fine.

The interviewing officer told me that my citizenship application is all clear now and the next stage now is to take the fingerprints.

THe problem is that I have a flight back (out of Canada) in 4 days. Any idea

1) How long it takes for the Fingerprint scan email to come in ?
2) Can we get the finger printing done outside Canada (in my home country) ?
3) In case it has to be done within Canada, can I fly out after that and possibly defer my Oath by 5/6 months ?

Thanks

1) It may take a couple of days for your e-mail to arrive once the online Tracker shows it - You'll need this letter as it has instructions for the RCMP as to where to send the results
2) Yes, you'll be able to take paper finger prints and mail it to be digitised by an RCMP approved fingerprinting service (google should give you options e.g.: https://commissionaires.bc.ca/fingerprinting/). You'll need to contact each individual agency for instructions. If you are planning on leaving soon, why don't you arrange for your paper prints to be taken now by an RCMP approved fingerprinting service and once the letter comes through, you can send them the letter and they can digitise it and submit it to the RCMP. In case you receive the letter before you leave, you can arrange for digital finger prints to be transmitted to RCMP at an authorised location, or a local police station
3) Can be done in or out of Canada and RCMP usually takes a month to send results back to IRCC once it receives the finger prints. Once a decision is made on your application it can take some time to get an Oath letter. You will need to be back in Canada for the Oath
