Not true. I knew before applying we were looking at 15 months. Last week it jumped to 19.
your application will be process within the processing time during the time you submit your application, it is updated to give new applicants a heads up on how long they will wait...

It is abundantly clear you do NOT know what you are talking about.

i know what i am talking about, 80% of the applications are processed within processing times not unless there are some red flags on your application.

80% of the applications have been processed as of that quarter date (most recently April 24th, 2013). It is erroneous, as you have done, to say that it is an indication "to give new applicants a head's up". This also applies to files currently being processed as well.

Anyone can make the statistics say what they like. CIC received my application 1 year and 8 days ago. In that time they have lost documents, left the application unopened for 6 months, not replied to emails, failed to send GCMS notes within 30 days. Pretty much any movement made on my flagless application has been because I've emailed my MP's office and cc'd the Minister's office.

Why does it take over a year to process any application? Maybe because Government reduced the number of visa offices and foreign service workers required to process applications expediently and failed to negotiate a collective agreement in good faith. The only victory Jason Kenney has claimed as Minister of Immigration is clearing 40% of a backlog by cancelling them so he could make room for the current backlog he is producing.

This government is not about serving the people it is supposed to represent it is about serving its own interests at the expense of the people. We have seen their contempt displayed over and over again with every omnibus bill and back to work legislation. You're a pretty ignorant fooker to come in this forum and instruct anyone on what they should be aware of. When I applied the processing time was 7 months. It is now 14 months.
If CIC was capable of running a functional public service forums like this one would not be necessary.

Hello all
Firstly I must say that I agree with the opinions Luckyman expressed here!
Coming to the issue with visa offices and foreign service workers! The visa officer whoi is dealing with yours and mine applications is he a foreign embassy worker or a Canadian foreign service worker?
Sorry if I am off topic here but I always wanted to know!

Lucky shares the reality of a lot of us who through no fault of our own have been repeatedly derailed and set aside either by intent or by the inept nature of a department in conflict.

The very existence of forums such as this one is indicative of all that is lacking in a government service that we pay for.

I have to say - It's obvious to any native speaker that your English is not 100%. I don't know how you think you can jump in here and try to tell everybody what's really going on. You talk as if you're sitting here in Canada but it sure doesn't sound like it to me ;) Unless I've mistaken what sounds like Filipino or Indian grammar and you're French, in which case I really apologize.

Like the others have said, the posted wait times are irrelevant when others are processed long before you, and especially when they change the wait times to suit their agenda. When I started my application it was 9 months and now it's up to 14. They don't hold themselves accountable for that at all. Any thing they could have messed up, they did. My application sat unopened in Mississauga and then Ottawa for 3 months. The processing time is usually a month but they conveniently changed it at that time to 3 months so I had no avenue to complain. I didn't even know if they had my file as it wasn't even opened or put into the system. My sponsor approval was 4.5 months long but there is no way I could have been denied.

The call centers are bogged down, you will be lucky to get through in your lunch hour, and they can't even help you or they can be downright argumentative. During that time, somebody entered another person's address for mine, so my address was all of a sudden in a different province and they couldn't rectify their own mistake.. I had to apply to change the mistake myself and wait a few weeks until it would take effect.

Misspelled Email addresses are common. Even though we entered them on the electronic forms, they didn't even pay attention and misspelled my partner's email address. It's happened to many people - the very most important form of communication is not even verified on your ECAS for you to view or correct.

Last week, 10 people's visa deliveries were sent to the wrong people! In our Manila group, one guy had his application sent to the wrong VO - India by mistake. And nobody noticed until months later!

During all this time, the Immigration Minister boasts record processing times.. which just rubs it in our face. A year later I get my GCMS notes and see that it only took them a week or two to review and approve our file.

We are meant to do our medicals before applying but now the processing time in Stage 2 for Manila is 14 months - which really hurts us since they never extend medicals beyond 12 months like they promised they would be able to. They don't even notify you when they mail your passport back with a visa. If you don't check ECAS every day for DM, all of a sudden, BOOM you could get important documents in the mail and not even know it! We have nearly NO avenue for complaint, especially when our files are still under review, and there is no transparency in the process at all.

It's funny, or ironic, that Luckyman complains of know-it-alls, and one appears :D Good luck to you, buddy.
