HI! I'm so happy I found this forum, we're all about on the same timelines and also most of us here belong to NOC 3152 (nurse), pwede ba ko mag tanong pero hindi about our FSW application, tanung ko lang sana dun sa mga nurses dito na member ng forum kung anong preparations ang ginagawa nila for your nurse registration sa canada, does anyone of you also going to take SEC Assessment? THank you
hi asitoja! nag-apply ako for regstration sa saskatchewan, canada.. sent my application mid- to late-novermber pero hanggang ngayon wala pang checklsit so hindi ko alam if meron pang SEC. sabi nila marami nagte-take ng SEC or bridging progranm, pero others didnt have to do that.. as in they took CRNE right away. galing. saan mo ba plan mag-sttle? kung saan mo gusto, dun ka magpa-register and i suggest you read how to obtain eligibility there...

albert_alo and kanebo,

ano guys meron na ba kayong update? wala pa ako visa...in process parin ako, still waiting for my ecas to change to DM :( sabi ng iba in 2-3 weeks DM na sila and actually patatanggap narin nila visa nila nun. i wonder whats keeping them from releasing our visa.. heto anxiety building up ulit. but i hope wala ng chance ma-deny yan..
imbubles: did you check with DHL na? (WWW express), just call them and ask kung anong office and tel number yung in-charge to deliver in your area. Once you talk to them just tell them its from the Canadian Embassy. Most of the ka timelines ko (July ~ August) is 28 day to 30 days exactly.

Yung pag change ng e-cas to DM takes place a week before DHL delivers the visa (at least in my case). pansin ko dati, pag Monday evening to Wednesday morning (pinas time) yung e-cas mas maraming makakuha ng updates..

hi isysy! hows life in canada? :)

problem ko is that sa agent ko ung address, so dun nila ipapadala. So normally mauna talaga magchange into DM kesa darating visa, dba? sana mag-change na ang ecas ko, parang nakakapraning eh...

Thank you miss khai!!!! Sorry ngaun lng ako nkpg trhnk u sau. I've been busy with work, i have gathered my emploement certificate thru my sis though she's quite young, all of them did not comply with the requirements needed. So, i have to get it myself haiistt!!. And according to new rule i have to take the GT module, the available slot is Oct 9 OMG !!! I also have concerned, i worked initially as a staff nurse 2 yrs contract, i finished 1 yr then i teach in the university. Should i included that?? I have the employment cetificated by my Chief nurse in case for background checking, do u think should i include this one??? I think i was terminated in the HR where in fact it was AWOL. But i have continuous employment though different universities most are more than 1 year all in all Ive been in the teaching field for 4 years now.
Hi actually di ako sure sa isasagot ko sayo..but i had the same experience..my agent advised me na i include ko lang..wala din akong coe kase i went awol but i had copies of contract and job descriptions. so i sent the copy of contract lang and an explanation letter.i think, for as long as you can prove your employment with them you can include it.Pero in my case kase i had another year of hospital experience with another employer..so kahit di nila i credit yun i was still able to meet the minimum requirement of 1 year continous experience.

Hi ms Khai:
Napansin ko for Registered Nurses IELTS Academic pwede na? But how about for NOC 4151 Psychologist, IELTS GT? Im an RN din pero wala pang exp kaya as psychologist (my initial and current profession) na lang try ko. I took the IELTS Academic last aug 05, ok results, then im sceduled to take the Gen. Training on Sept 25. For psychologist, dapat ba academic IELTS din like RNs?
Hi,
I'm not really sure..actually di ko rin alam kung ok pa sa kanila yung acad ielts ko.i'm still hopeful though, kase sabi nang agent ko pwede naman.

I took acad ielts kase i used it also for registration sa CRNBC.registration body sa british columbia.
If you'll ask me,i think you'll have to tAKE Both GT and acad if you intend to apply for licensure sa canada. And you'll still need the GT for immigration purposes. :)

Hi everyone,

My friend's got some concern: She's about to submit her full docs and her 120-day deadline will be on the first week of October. She's confused whether she will follow the recently revised checklist of documents issued by the manila visa office, or the checklist at the time of her application...........

For those who are in this same dilemma, we shall appreciate your insights.....

a big thanks in advance... ;)

Hi Silverfox.. when did she applied? Was it before June 26 changes? As for me if you applied during the old rule then you follow the old rule all throughout. I applied to NS feb 4 and submitted full docs to visa office July 4 and i still followed the old checklist.

Hi everyone, I'll just share our landing experience.

We landed last Aug. 27 in Toronto.
I'd say that everything went smooth. la naman naging problem, except lang na naiwan kami ng connecting flight namin from Detroit to Toronto. Good thing at nakasakay kami sa sumunod na scheduled flight.

Upon arriving at Toronto Pearson Int'l Airport, immigration officers checked our passports and COPRs then we were asked to proceed to a room kung saan pinoprocess papers ng new immigrants. During that time, konti lang mga new immigrants na dumating, I think there were 6 families in the waiting area. Mejo matagal lang kami naghintay coz there were only 2 immigration officers facilitating the processing for new immigrants.

When it's our turn, the immigration officer just asked for our passports, COPR and customs declaration form. The officer was friendly & very accommodating. She just asked how much money we have and the address where we will be staying. She didn't bother to inspect the funds we have. Our funds were all in USD (50% cash & 50% bank draft). Then she asked us to sign the COPRs, then gave us our copies. & that's it, she said "Welcome to Canada". The processing just took us 10 minutes. Other families na nauna sa min took around 20-30 mins of processing. Processing time depends siguro on the number of family members. The more family members, the longer time for processing.

Then we were asked to go to a service kiosk where they gave us brochures & others materials containing information about settlement, & othe info on the things needed to be done by new immigrants (e.g. SIN application, health insurance, child tax benefits).

Regarding sa processing at the customs, very simple lang, they just asked for the list of goods accompanying & to follow (form B4) & asked us how much money we have (just to confirm the amount we indicated in the customs declaration). Then that's it.

Good luck in your applications, hope everything will be ok.

Rene,

Her application was received by CIO, NS last April 1, 2010, and her 1st AOR was dated June 9th.

Thanks for your reply.
