koji, kelan ka nag-sked ng COA, PDOS and CIIP? did u wait for ur status to change to DM before attending the seminars? d pa kasi ako nag-DM eh... and do u recommend COA?

COA stands for Canadian Orientation Abroad

the flyer for COA is given kasabay ng issuance of visa. Di naman sya required na seminar before leaving for canada. but the orientation is informative & very helpful for immigrants in Canada.

hi sigrid101! okay lang kaya magpa-schedule ng COA and CIIP kahit wala pa visa ko? Gusto ko kasi sana matapos lahat ng seminiras ko by November. Pero actually hindi pa ako "Decicion made"

koji, kelan ka nag-sked ng COA, PDOS and CIIP? did u wait for ur status to change to DM before attending the seminars? d pa kasi ako nag-DM eh... and do u recommend COA?

after Medical nagpa sked agad ako sa CIIP mahirap kasi kumuha slot after 2 months ng medical nakakuha ako slot, after sending ng PP pdos on-line registration naman but 1 month allowance ang kinuha ko, buti na lang bumalik agad PP with Visa; sched ng COA by email reservation naman after DM. Advise lang pilitin maka attend sa lahat ng seminars kahit di mandatory.. once lang naman yan at madami ka ma meet na fellow immigrants.

thanks koji! hmm, sa tingin mo wala ng chance na ma-deny pa ako? hehe. d pa kasi ako nag-DM eh, un worry ko. at isa pang prob, agent namin daw magpapa-schedule saamin.. binigay namin ung request form ng CIIP skanila, hopefully nga nabigay nila.

Re: PDOS, pwede pala kahit wala pang visa? puwede ba mamili ng sched? like ako mag-demand kelan ko gusto? sana kasi by oct lahat, and by NOv tapos na lahat...

hi albert! kelan mo pinadala iyong visa mo? ako 1st-2nd week of august, PPR ko july 28. sana mag-DM na tau. May na-attend ka na bang seminars?

hi imbubbles.. pindala namin last aug 7 and was it was received aug 09. about the seminars, we had the CIIP last aug 23-24.. hnd pa me nakakapagpa sked for PDOS kc wala pang visa at passport.. how about COA? nakapag attend ka na? sana nga dis coming week meron na tayong visa ano..

Hi everyone, I'll just share our landing experience.

We landed last Aug. 27 in Toronto.
I'd say that everything went smooth. la naman naging problem, except lang na naiwan kami ng connecting flight namin from Detroit to Toronto. Good thing at nakasakay kami sa sumunod na scheduled flight.

Upon arriving at Toronto Pearson Int'l Airport, immigration officers checked our passports and COPRs then we were asked to proceed to a room kung saan pinoprocess papers ng new immigrants. During that time, konti lang mga new immigrants na dumating, I think there were 6 families in the waiting area. Mejo matagal lang kami naghintay coz there were only 2 immigration officers facilitating the processing for new immigrants.

When it's our turn, the immigration officer just asked for our passports, COPR and customs declaration form. The officer was friendly & very accommodating. She just asked how much money we have and the address where we will be staying. She didn't bother to inspect the funds we have. Our funds were all in USD (50% cash & 50% bank draft). Then she asked us to sign the COPRs, then gave us our copies. & that's it, she said "Welcome to Canada". The processing just took us 10 minutes. Other families na nauna sa min took around 20-30 mins of processing. Processing time depends siguro on the number of family members. The more family members, the longer time for processing.

Then we were asked to go to a service kiosk where they gave us brochures & others materials containing information about settlement, & othe info on the things needed to be done by new immigrants (e.g. SIN application, health insurance, child tax benefits).

Regarding sa processing at the customs, very simple lang, they just asked for the list of goods accompanying & to follow (form B4) & asked us how much money we have (just to confirm the amount we indicated in the customs declaration). Then that's it.

you need to have visa and COPR if you will attend pdos.. but pwede ka magpa sched kahit wala pa visa.. estimate mo na lng kailan darating PP mo; yes pwede ikaw mamili ng sched as long as may open pa sa date na napili mo...

madaming case na "in process" pa din ang ecas kahit nareceive na ang visa; so nothing to worry.. basta PPR ka na sure na yan. Better kuha ka na sched ng CIIP kung Nov. gusto mo ok na lahat.
