if you are going to submit your application to CIO, you have to provide a photocopy of the documents needed in the manila visa office checklist. The original copies you must submit is only IELTS and POLICE certificate. The rest of the documents photocopy lang.

but if you are going to submit documents to manila visa office, you must follow what is asked on the checklist.
Thank you sooooo much Karen for your reply. This clears up a lot of things! ;)

I was in a pinch, on what to submit. this clears up almost every questions that I have :)

I have another question pala:

Dun sa Manila VO checklist, #14 Fee Payment.

Diba, ang initial payment, sa CIO. After nila assess, pag ok papers, and before giving the visa, magbabayad yung Landing Fee sa Manila na.

Can anyone clarify? Thanks ng marami.

any information about joint accounts? Sabi ng iba, ndi daw pwede kapag ang kajoint ay other than your spouse but some said that in cases of joint accounts, 50% will be considered by the visa officer as yours.

This is a repost. Anyone to make this clear?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure ako dito.

Hi fellow forumers,

Good news....just received my medical request today.

My problem is I am currently 5 months pregnant now. Any advise if I would proceed with the medical or to wait until I give birth.

Appreciated very much any inputs. :)
Hi ndpadin,

I think it's ok to proceed with medical, but consult it first with your gynecologist. In our case kasi, my wife was on her 4th month when we received the medical request. We just consulted with her gynecologist kung ok na magpa-chest x-ray. Her gynecologist gave us the go signal, as long as gumamit sya ng lead apron (available naman to at nationwide)

If ever na you decide to proceed with the medical, obtain first a medical certificate from your gynecologist indicating the state of your pregnancy, isusubmit mo din kasi yun dun sa clinic on the day of your medical.

Be ready also after taking the medical exam. In our case kasi, after around 1 and a half months after the medical exam, we received a call from the visa office asking us kung gusto namin magland before my wife's delivery, otherwise, i-defer nila application namin. We opted na magland na lang after delivery. Kaya after the baby's delivery, we immediately informed the visa office and they asked us to submit documents for the new dependent.

If you prefer na dun manganak, follow kikokit's postings in this forum.

Thanks buddy. You are right that they may think that way although legality wise, they should at least consider Phil laws.

Savings accounts are readily available on demand by any of the account holders, right? Meaning, at the option of any of the account holder(s), funds may be withdrawn and used for whatever purpose the owner intends. Should I wish to have them transferred to Canada, it is my right to do so because I am a legal owner of the account.

Well, I just hope that before they decide NOT in my favor, they would at least give me a chance to explain and prove myself.

God bless our applications.

Sorry po sa kakulitan. But I have been asking my consultancy firm again and again but until now wala silang maisagot and I am getting very worried kasi malapit na deadline ko. I applied initially as single and after I received my AOR, I got married last June 8 so I can bring my hubby with me. So I have already paid for my $550 right?

This is what is stated in the AOR:
This correspondence also acknowledges receipt of your Fee Payment Form (Imm5620) authorizing CIC to take payment of processing fees using the credit card details provided. Please be informed that we processed a payment of 550.00 Canadian dollars on this credit card (ending in 2198). Your receipt number is XXXXXXXX. Please keep a copy of this letter for your records and quote this number on all correspondence relating to application fees or refunds.

When i tried to fill-up the fee payment form, may "1" na yung for the applicant portion. Then if I will place "1" na ulit for the portion of the spouse, the total would amount to $1,100 na. Hindi kasi ma erase yung "1" at "$550" sa fee payment form for the applicant's portion.

Another thing is, do I have to contact the Manila Embassy to let them know of my changed civil status or just attach the marriage contract and affidavit explaining the changes? I know natanong ko na ito sa previous posts ko and I am still waiting for your suggestions and inputs. Please anybody. Pasensya na talaga. I think you guys can help me more compared to my consultancy firm. Thanks in advance.

Not sure ako dun sa payment mo.

But, as for the status change, the information is in page 2 of the Manila VO checklist.

It says something like:
After you submit your application, it is your responsibility to inform Manila VO and provide necessary documents for changes in your: status, education, employment, etc.

I think the Visa Office allowed either the certified true copy or photocopy of documents based on the capacity to produce them. Kasi like in school records, some cannot actually give an original like diplomas. For TORs, I think since the school has an original nyan, eh the VO opted to ask for a certified true copy. Others nga lang can produce another original kasi computerized naman yon and they can always print. That printout is an original under the law (E-commerce law). Also look at the requirements on proof of relationship, diba photocopies lang. Kasi siguro they were thinking that it would be too much of a hassle or even impractical for the applicant to secure the original from the relative abroad. I think they made the requirements based on their experience na rin on what Filipinos can actually submit.

Pasensiya na, I cant help but share that opinion. Pero I think at a minimum, dapat i-allow ng VO whatever they wrote as requirements there. Hehe.

Anyway, goodluck to all of us.

Hi,

Thank you very much for your detailed info. In your case have you informed the visa officer about the pregnancy of your wife or the medical report will it be sufficed for them to know the status.

Guys and Gals,

Also please note pala that in the instructions, they clearly say photocopy and before that they have a note that says do not send originals (In travel documents and proof of relationship). Kasi there are parts where they say copies. Copies may mean a duplicate copy ha. A duplicate copy is different from a photocopy.

Suggestion ko lang, we should always go to the safer side. The hierarchy of acceptability of the genuineness and due execution of documents are the following:

1. original or duplicate original.
2. certified true copy
3 photocopy

This is in the legal fora both here and elsewhere. FYI. Good luck!
