Hi Caloy,

Are you having your passport renewed on your own? You didn't engage the services of a travel agency? I was just wondering because when I had the passports of my dependents renewed to machine readable last month, it only took us less than a week for the personal appearance (PA) schedule at DFA after I submitted the renewal application forms to the travel agency. It was a breeze and the new passports were released in 2 weeks time. Also, I can always ask them to schedule our PA first thing in the morning (around 7am) so I don't have to take a leave of absence from work.

The downside though is you have to pay a little bit more (P1,500 per passport)...but you cut back on the processing time.

By the way, Anscor Casto Tours and Travel was the travel agency just in case you will be interested.

Hi,

I did it by myself, actually we went to DFA and we've learned that you have to do an appointment first thru the website or in DFA call centre. So as of this moment the latest appointment starts on April 27 onwards.....and even you do over the phone appointment it is still the same available dates....can you please give the phone number of that said travel agency. Also, the PP that we have now is the machine readable one (green colour)...they said we need the e-passport now the one with the chips...did you get the e-pp one?

In relation to my email.....I surfed their number on web..got it...as per them the process is same as i did....the new system would be appointment on line first or thru call centre...then personal apperance later...depending if it is rush (10 working days) or regular (20 working days).....thanks for responding to my email!!

i agree... i for one took academic for application in some countries as well.. but as for the requirement for FSW immigration. i had to take again IELTS GT... and thankfully. i passed... i was told that the listening should be 8 and that the other categories must not go below 6.5... is that true? why is it that listening should be 8?

Lola_Basyang - i don't know if that is true....ang sabi naman sa akin is to have a total band score of ast least 7.0. So it doesn't matter how you did in Listening....pero at least daw try to have a score of at least 7.0 in each category. I also took GT. Got a 7.5 in listening.

Listening should be 7.5, all others will be 6.5 :)

Guys,

Need your help kung kailangan talagang ilagay sa isang envelope na size 9"x12" ang applicaation form o kahit anong envelope pwede na. Ang nabili ko kasi is size 10"x12". Big deal ba un?

Hi caloy - It's a good thing that you were able to get in touch with them and confirmed that you are on the right track. I hope that you will get your e-passport soon. :)

Hi meanne - It was very clear in the instruction guide under Mailing Instruction to put the forms in a 9" x 12" envelope. If it won't cost you too much, it would be better to follow the instruction. We don't know if the Assessment Officer will be so OC that he/she will make a big deal on an envelope that is longer than the rest by only an inch. You might want to be on the safe side...but it is up to you. This is just my opinion. :)
