Hi there,

You can actually do free assessment online on some immigration lawyer websites - like canadavisa.com. Sometimes they follow up your assessment via email free.

For applications submitted after June 26, 2010, police clearance (inc. NBI) is not yet required. It will be required at a later date.

For more info, download the most recent visa office specific requirements. :)

Hi there,

Pareho tayo ng NOC Code :) Would you mind sharing your JD stated in your employment letter submitted to CIO?

Many thanks,
Anna

ok i understand. before i applied under 0111 and my credit card was charged aug. 6. at that time, i thought we are just waiting for our AOR since my credit card was charged. they said, there is a 95% chances that you will pass the first stage once you are charged. unfortunately for me, that i was denied based on insufficient job descriptions. anyway, so much for that. i don't want to indulge in painful experiences anymore.

as of now, me and my husband are still planning to apply but my husband will be the primary applicant. we are just waiting for his ielts.

you actually applied without the nbi clearance? my husband worked in canada for two years and we have requested for police clearance since early september. however we haven't received the clearance yet. although, we have our nbi clearances with us. we are planning to include it in the package to be submitted to CIO.

Yes, I submitted my application w/out NBI clearance. At the time I was gathering my documents, police clearance was required for all countries the applicant lived in for more than 6 mos. until the latest guideline issued by VO- Manila in August 2010.

To quote, "If you are submitting your application to the CIO on or after June 26, 2010, the police certificates are not required with your complete application to the CIO. If your application is placed into processing you will be required to provide police certificates to the visa office at a later date."

So, after reading that over and over and reading through discussions in other forums, I am more confident that it makes no sense to submit one if it was specifically mentioned not to submit. It also makes perfect sense for the police clearance to be asked at a later date because of the heightened call for security. Also, requiring a more recent police clearance at a later date during the process is one way for Canada to ensure they are not about to give refuge to criminals.

How did you go about requesting for a police clearance in Canada? I also worked and lived in Canada but have not requested for a police certificate yet. Previous guideline and most recent one does not require unless specifically asked at a later time. I read from somewhere that RCMP will not entertain such request unless you have a specific form/letter reference given out by immigration.

Regarding encashment of payment, I believe this means that we have passed the completeness check and our application are placed for eligibility review.
“If the application is eligible for processing, the applicant will be informed. Once processing has begun, the cost recovery fee is no longer refundable. The CIO will proceed to processing the application against the FSW minimal requirements”.
“If the applicant’s submission is determined to be ineligible for processing, the applicant will be informed and will receive a refund.”

So let’s all hope we get through the process. If not, I just hope to win the P350M lottery jackpot. ;D :o :)

Hi Anna,

Yeah, i see we both applied under 1122. Ours is a hot NOC, cap is reached as of Nov 3! I just hope that we really made it to the cap (given the fact that our payments were encashed). I’ve been reading other threads and some were saying that the update was approximately for applications received middle of Sept! I have strong reasons to believe this is untrue.

I will share my JD when my application passes the criteria. For now, let’s hope and pray that whatever we submitted will meet the requirement. :)

Hi Twilightgirl! Thanks - it's ok, understand. I'm a bit worried about the JD which I submitted, I posted it somewhere here in this forum because I am reading different views from the other thread focusing on 1122 Applications.

Yes and I agree with you, either pass the criteria or we hit the lottery jackpot :D Too much if I asked for both? Hehe.

If your DD or cc is encashed most probably youve made it to the cap. If not, your file would ve not been opened at all. Thats according to OP6 manual.

Hi Carl,

Is this reply for me? If yes then what I am actually worried about is when my application reaches Visa Office for processing. I believe CIO is just checking completeness/correctness and probably high-level review of the application but the VO will be the one to determine eligibility. My brother (before June 26 rulings) passed the CIO review but failed in the VO process because his actual work vs job description did not match the required indemand skills/NOC. His payment was refunded.

Thanks,
Anna

Hi to all people in this thread, I actually belong to the pre- June 26 applicants. But I could see that the people here are responsive to the queries of their members.

Anybody, with kind heart who could advice me as to how much points I could actually earn from my work experience. I applied under NOC0111 Financial Manager which I worked from April 2007 - present, short for a 4 years experience. (BTW, deadline for 120 days is on Feb 4 2010) BUt I do have a previous work experience as a bookkeeper for 2 years which is not under the Ministerial instruction that time but belongs to NOC.

So, Do I get 19 pts or 21 pts?

Hello! Im also a pre-June 26 applicant. I think you will only get 19 points because the previous work exp is based on the 38 occupations at the time of application and bookkeeper is not part of the 38 occupations. I may be wrong though but you have to assume that you will only get 19 points. Be conservative on your points.

Hi Catherine,

Based on EG7/Application Guide, 3 years is 19 pts and 4 years is 21 pts so if you are between 3-4 yrs, I think it will fall under 19 pts but DO note that years of work experiences are counted ONLY if it falls under Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A or B and must have occurred during the 10 years before the date of application. If you have determined that your 5+ years work experience falls on these skill type/level then thats 21 points for you.

You may refer to the HRSDC website for further information on these skills/experiences.

Cheers!

Anna
