hello ndpadin,

mind if ask why start with CGA? bakit di ka diretso mag CA?

I'm just thinking maybe it's too expensive If I go straight to CA,but then I will do my research first which one is better.

How about you?

sino kaya may planong mag CA dito? ako lng ba ??? ??? ???

i am browing the ICAO website, and found out na nakakawindang tlga ang requirements

some of the requirements to be registered as a student are as follow:

Education
 An official transcript of all university courses you have taken as part of your degree. An
official transcript has the official stamp or seal of your university. Photocopies of
transcripts are not accepted.
 A university syllabus or course calendar from your university describing the courses you
completed. If this document is not in English, you must send as well a notarized
translation of course descriptions for all courses you completed.

and I was an undergrad more than 10 years ago, san kaya ako makapaghalukay ng mga syllabus na to :-[ :-[ :-[

Hi Mimi,

For the syllabus what I did, I've asked my school to provide it for me. I've used that one when I have my qualification membership in CPAA Australia. The school must have it in their file and ready for issuance to their students.

as i read the post of gladicame in this link http://lbautista.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=how&action=display&thread=4982&page=1, u have to enroll in 12 subjects. its going to take 3 years (studies and expereince included) b4 u earn the designation. i dont know if this is true for all picpa members, kasi we came from different institutions. it seems CGA does not evaluate the accounting body itself but the skul where u studied previously. di pa ako nagpa-assess sa knila, so i dont know kng ilang subjects tlga i have to take up if i choose to become CGA. not so sure kng may exams pa

as for CA, i've already sent them an email and they told me i have to enrol in 1 subject na lng, canadian business law, acquire 3 years expereince, and pass their exams. may bayad din mag take ng exams nila. this is true for all PICPA members kasi they evaluated picpa already.

as for CMA, im still waiting for their assessment...free po ;D

Thru email ba or mail? :(

Dear friends,

So far, I am getting an idea of how to start.

1. while waiting for our approval, we need to have our credentials assessed to get the equivalent in Canadian education.
Kung ano man ang maging resulta ng assessments, kailangan nating isulat yon sa resume to give the prospective employer an idea of where we are "at par" with their current system.
4. Hindi natin kailangang magmadaling maging CA. Even if we get the certification ASAP, Canadian experience is also very essential and therefore, we need to invest time to get much of it habang unti-unti din nating nakukuha ang certifications.
6. Live not just within our means but below our means.
7. Maaaring after 3months pa tayo maging eligible sa medical benefits kaya kelangan din nating magscout ng temporary insurance dahil ilalayo ng sampung malayo, ndi natin alam kung kelan tayo magkakasakit at kung mangyari yon within the 3months period na ndi pa tau insured, simot ang buong kabuhayan natin, ndi pa man tayo nakakapagsimula.

Hay, buhay.... kundi rin lang gusto naming magkaroon ng better opportunities and more options ang anak namin sa paglaki nya, hindi na kami para umalis pa.

God bless our applications. May His will be done. May all our efforts be for the glory of His name and may we be worthy of his grace and mercy.

Me nabasa rin ako, pwedeng habang naghihintay ng mga assessment, at nag-iipon ng pambayad sa mga nagmamahalang fees, subukan nyo rin yung sa www.careerbridge.ca/... internship cya for qualified professional... I haven't browse the website thoroughly, but from what i read, nasa $ 2,166.00 ang sweldo monthly... not bad habang naghahanap ng magandang trabaho, it would also last from 4months to 6 months to 1 year, and could have Canadian work experience...

Kung me time po kayo, pwede nyo rin pong icheck yung site... it might be helpful...

let's try to request course description from the registrar sabi ni abilex. baka di yun mabusisi. pareho tayo. meron din ako a few syllabi related to accounting, etc for OZ assessment. di ko tinuloy yun kasi naguguluhan ako sa reqmts, tapos d2 din pala bagsak ko ;D ;D ;D

Sa school kasi na pinanggalingan ko (PUP-Sta.Mesa) sa di nagbibigay ang registrar, kailangan talagakuhanin from the respected colleges na in-charge. :(

meanne,

maaari ngang ganun.

Let's hope na may files sila because if none, then we may have to give them extra time to work back ;)

Ready sila kasi andami daw request from former students sighting ung reason - immigration purpose. :)

i just sent an e-mail to custserv@icao.on.ca requesting for a list of documents they require for assessment; no need of letter from picpa
