My address disappeared on e-cas today! Just hope they have some great news for me for the new year 2012.

its a simple technique.
They just dont have enough jobs for all these awaiting applicants. moreover, they need their own countrymen to get jobs. They have a huge $ in their banks from these awaiting applicants and they are getting a handy amount as interests. what Sunny has has said is nice. We should bombard their lawmakers with emails/mails to lobby for the MI-1 and old applicants.

I agree with you. They have taken our money and they are doing their business with it. They really have to do something.Everything has time.

Actually, I had planned to apply for Caips notes in the first week of January this year. But since my address disappeared now, I think, I'll wait till it reappears, before applying for Caips. Maybe, there is some status change. Last time when my address disappeared from E-cas in the month of August, 2011, it reappeared after 15 days but there was no change in my status. I just hope that this time it would be different. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I Think NDVO is going to ask for file update very soon for those whose ECAS address has been disappeared since 13th Dec 2011. Singapore VO has asked file updates to many Pre June Applicants. Now , I think its our turn.
I JUST HAVE A QUERY 6 MONTHS BANK BALANCE IS ASKED IN FILE UPDATE .IT IS NOT FEASIBLE FOR MANY APPLICANTS TO SHOW CAD 13800 (approx.) FOR 6 MONTHS BECAUSE MANY OF US CAN NOT FREEZE OUR MONEY IN BANK WAITING FOR VO'S REPLY. WHAT IF WE SHOW THE BALANCE OF SIX MONTHS BUT REQUIRED AMOUNT (CAD 13800 , approx.) ONLY FOR 45/60 DAYS AS WE GET FILE UPDATE LETTER ? WILL IT BE OK ?

It may appear to be a dumb question, but could you please explain what is meant by the phrase 'to ask for a file update'? What all is done when a file is updated?

I am sure they are testing if awaiting applicants are still sporting enough to work on their files, send some filled up renewed forms and they still want to make the journey.

Address reappeared on e-cas only after 6 days of disappearance, this time. But there is no change in status.
I've applied for CAIPS Notes. Will get Caips notes by 3rd week of February.
Hopefully, I'll get some positive news from CIC before that.
