Fiance on Visitor Visa

Hello All,

I am currently on my Post Graduate Work Permit(Open Work permit) which expires on Oct 2018.
I will be married in May 2017.

She received her Canadian Visitor/Tourist Visa which is valid until Oct 2018.

After getting married in May 2017 will she face any difficulties at port of entry at canada airports.

I would like to know if anyone has already gone through such a process. Please reply and suggest ..

Hi, i had the same thing happen to me. Had a multiple entry visa that was still valid but after we got married I wanted to go visit my husband and reapplied for a new visa on my married surname and it was refused. They sent back to say I new to apply under the spousal sponsorship. Only difference is my husband is a Canadian citizen by birth. Just submitted our spousal sponsorship application so will wait and see..

However I am concerned about her clearing immigration at port of entry.

Even with a valid visitor visa if the cbsa believe the person may overstay their visit they can be denied. Be careful what you say. There are many other reasons but I think this is the one you need to be most concerned with.

Hi, after my husband and I got married I went back with him for our honeymoon to Canada for 2 weeks. They did ask me at the airport what we would be doing, I said visiting but only once I said we just got married, they said that's what they were waiting for. I think they knew we had gotten married on the system and by been honest they could see there was nothing to hide.
