This looks a little encouraging.
Did they contact you about your file or you just got your email replied. Any idea if they have assigned / start reviewed your file by someone?

What is your ecas status?

It is good to know that they have extended your medicals otherwise you had to spend more money and waste some more time.

hey HLR .. I send an email on Sunday(21 sept 2013) morning to ask them about my file status and asked them that my MEDICAL is going to expire soon(October). so they answered me like that.
My ecas shows application received.
I dont think an officer is assigned to my file yet.

Guys, here is my experience with the Ottawa office till 2 weeks ago:
1) I got selected through QSW and submitted all my documents (including police clearance) to NS in Nov 2012.
2) In Dec, CIC returned my application asking for an original birth certificate issued by home country. I sent them my home country issued birth certificate and in Feb 2013, I got a request for Medicals- I got that done too.
3) In June, I paid the RPRF and since then, like many others here, I have been waiting for my PPR.
4) In September 2013, I get an email from Ottawa saying that my FBI clearance is expired past the 12 months grace period. I checked my documents, and my FBI clearance expires in Oct 2013, not Sept 2013 (but my state police clearances expire in the last week of Sept 2013). I faxed Ottawa my documents showing proof that I was still within the 12 month grace period and also send them an email about the faxed documents. The only response I got was the automatic respond- nothing else.

Anyone else have this experience with Ottawa? I am so disappointed with them. If QSW has approved us, why does Ottawa take so long? They sat on my application for 1 year and then when the 1 year is nearly up, they send an email saying that your certificates are past 12 months grace period (which is not correct). Guys, this is so wrong of them to do this to us when we sent all our documents on time, paid on time, etc. What should I do?

hey can.maple I have seen manytimes that cpp-o ask for FBI clearance when its going to expire..
I think you have to apply for new one.. how long it take to make FBI CERTIFICATE? what is your ecas status..

Thanks Harvie. I sent my application early July and AOR was august 2nd. I really hope this would lead to PPR soon.

Hello all,

I am new to this forum and wants to share my timeline with everyone. Below is my timeline.

QSW (PEQ) received- November 10, 2012
Application filed- November 31, 2012
Application received- December 12, 2012
AOR- January 28, 2013
Medical request- February 6, 2013
Medical done- February 8, 2013
Medical Received- March 22, 2013
In Process- June 11, 2013

I ordered for my first GCMS note which was printed June 4, 2013. In that GCMS note
Eligibility- Not started
Security- Not started
Criminality- In Progress
RCMP- No reportable trace
Medicals- Passed

I ordered for another one that was printed July 29, 2013. In that GCMS note

Eligibility-Passed
Security- Blank
Criminality- Passed
Medicals- Passed

I ordered for the third one that was printed August 29, 2013. In that GCMS note, I found out that nothing has been done on my file. The second and the third GCMS note was exactly the same. No additional update. My last update was July 2, 2013. My file location is still in REGISTRY. My application has been in Process for almost 4months now.

Another thing is that on any page that has security info on my GCMS note, there is always (s.21) on the top write corner of the note. My security was updated, but the date, status and validity was not shown. But the date and status for Criminality, Medicals and Eligibility were shown.

Anyone on the same boat should comment.
