could u pls tell me whts the actuall after process once buffalo VO cashed out ur fee drafts? I sent my file to buffalo in this 10th March and yesterday i called to TD to enquire about my Fee Drafts and they told me my both drafts has been cashed out on 10th May and TD repre. told me she can only see the reference no. on their system, no any other information. Could you tell me pls how this info. can b helpful for me bcoz its 2nd month going on after they cashed both drafts and till date no AOR. and now this canada post strike, how can it affect?

Hello Sher Singh,
Receiving a confirmation that your BD was encashed is really a good thing. It means they accepted your aapplication and will not send it back. If you are able to get to TD Branch where BD was done, you can ask them a printed copy and see your FN. About 6-7 months after they received your application, or when they are ready to begin with it, Buffalo will send you an AOR and at that point it will activate your FN and you will be able to see on ecas website, just like me: We started processing your application on xx.

Till then make patience your best friend.

tnx friend for the reply , so counting these 6-7 months will start from the initial stage when i sent my file to buffalo or after they encashed the drafts?? they hav mentioned on their website to give them 20 weeks (which becomes around 5 months) to create our file in their system and within those 20 weeks they will send
us AOR.

Dear friend,
As I said to hani, AOR should arrive in about 6-7months from the date they receive the application. As some of us received back in January after emailing Buffalo:
The creation of permanent resident applications in our database along with the mailing of the acknowledgement of receipt letter is taking a minimum of 30 weeks.
So, count 30 weeks from the date you sent your application. You should receive smthg by then, if not you may want to contact Buffalo to request updated status.

sorry for replying late to your inquiry. for some reasons i couldn't access this forum all day yesterday afternoon (it is even blocking me from sending personal messages to users!!!!). not sure why????

nevertheless, here is my timeline so far (and i would also encourage all of us to do the same in order to help each of us get a clear idea of how long the painful waiting time would be):

App. Filed.......: 18-04-2011
AOR Received.: waiting...
Med's Request: waiting...
Med's Done....: waiting...
Passport Req..: waiting...
VISA ISSUED...: waiting...

the only good news i have so far (and thanks to my friends ae03yy & nkusi) is that i received yesterday a copy of the confirmation that my $550.00 check for application fee has been cashed. on that copy, there is a B number underneath the CIC barcode (you should see it there). that B# is actually your file number.

after i received the FN, i immediately went to check my application status online through CAS. unfortunately, it did NOT let me access any info on my application status at this time (it looks like they have not even started processing yet)

so this is my personal conception on this whole application process:
if you see that they have cashed your check, then it definitely means that YOUR Application is complete and that you didn't miss anything (such as a signature, or your birthday document, etc.). FYI (i.e., For Your Information), this primary task is assumed by a different group of people (NOT the actual IO (i.e., immigration officer)) that just sits there and check application content to make sure the applicant has indeed properly followed the checklist and then cash your money order or cashier check or your payment in general.

then, there will be some time-frame (2 or 3 months usually) before they (this time i'm referring to the actual IO) start processing your application.

Now, depending on the documents you included in your application, some IO may speed up the process or other may not. sometimes, it really depends on the VISA office too!!!! like if you get lucky and your application gets transferred to DETROIT, yours will definitely go even faster than buffalo... (i specifically indicated DETROIT on my application, so i hope they do the transfer very soon)

I am trying one more option, I dont know if this will work but atleast I want to give it a try. I am going to the quebec border and enter with my CSQ and Job Offer from Montreal and try to get a work permit on border.

Do you think it could work, as they will consider PR process half complete and quebec selection certificate as provincial nominee ?


Please let me know if this is worth a try.

Hi folks,

Hope everyone is havin a good week so far. Mine has been quite interesting. Well the other day i phoned CAIPS note toll free number, and upon inquiring they answered that mine was mailed on the 9th. So, it's probably stuck in between Canada Post Warehouse and me..........i think.

Anyhow, has anyone rec'd AOR from Buffalo and not shared the timeline w/ us yet? Note, I'll do the update later this afternoon instead of tomorrow.

when you send an email to buffalo wa got a reply, in the subject line you have ypur immigration file number, Bxxxxxxxx (RO) and sometimes lh/mg after the immigration file number

i just put the FN ie "B1-9" in subject line. only 2 emails i sent didn't get answered out of i don't know how many, like 15ish since 2007. Once 1 email also did not received immediate response (within 24-48hrs), they answered 3 months later saying it got stuck and just popped in their mailbox.
