i wont follow that because , since we are starting seeing delays , they will update that waiting time to longer periods 9 months 10 months ... and we will always wait for more .

My tracker was finally updated today. It says my citizenship test was completed April 17, even though I took the test March 21, and the update only came today. Everything else is still in progress.

Hmm.. I've thought IRCC Citizenship Tracker show updates mostly in 2 days. Sounds like the tracker issues are still remain in some aspect? or it might depends on each officer? (I know one of our friends here get updates twice a day and it sounds like their officer keep updating in timely manner.)

currently bg check seems to take way longer if u check google sheet tracker , its clear that march and later february applicants for example are not getting bg check done not like other months
all other steps seems to be moving correctly
which make me think that ircc is moving , but maybe other steps requiring 3rd parties are taking longer time lets see
I have speculated elsewhere here that IRCC might be temporarily delaying some steps, just for the period since the writ was dropped. Reason? To have some simple rule internally to avoid any accusations that some apps are being 'rushed' to influence votes. (Is that likely/possible? Probably not really, but in these divisive times, IRCC would wnat to avoid even the perception of such).
Of course, ones that were already 'passed' some stage before the election continue as before - eg I know for sure that there are citizenship ceremonies tomorrow, although I think they were scheduled (with applicants) before the election formally started.
But I have no hard evidence either way. We might see some evidence if a bunch of LPPs are cleared shortly after the election. [Note also this does not mean - necessarily- that anything is actually stopped, just a moratorium on going to next steps until later - so that they don't have accusations either way that they're speeding things up/slowing them down.] If this does happen, it's not so much a delay as a brief pause (there will be catching up).
Caveat: there are lots of other potential explanations. For example: the people doing the background check work may be tasked for other urgent things (incl for the election) - not a policy to delay/pause, but just election-related prioritization/staff allocation. Or of course it could be unlrelated to elections, just more applications coming in and internal stuff at IRCC (reshuffling, etc) as they attempt to deal with it.
Unless someone specifically tries access to information request to find this out (or gets an MP after it), there likely won't be confirmation (or meaningful denials).

I think a fair number got AOR after the election called (one of my family members in fact).
My speculation is basically that they're letting them to proceed but mostly 'pausing' LPP after ~ day of election launch - because LPP-complete is the trigger for scheduling oath ceremonies, and hence where pressure to speed up and schedule oath ceremony would (hypothetically) come.
Put differently, once LPP/decision made are done (and we don't know when decision made happens exactly), it really is mostly oath scheduling, and that could be sped up.
Note, this 'pressure' could be from applicants or MPs or whomever, up to and including people trying to use 'urgent need' reasons (real or fabricated) or just 'I want to vote' as a reason. None of which reasons are actually invalid (well, as long as not fabricated/in good faith, but that'd require checking) - but the possibility for it being improper arises once the election has been called.
That's why I think it would be logical (and a sign of good governance actually) for the civil service to have a policy (approved in advance, under control of deputy minister and not minister) precisely about this. To avoid any semblance of impropriety. (Well, there can always be accusations, including about citizenship grants before the election, but if there's a simple policy and it's followed, it reduces the likelihood of those getting any traction with the public).
Repeat though: this all makes sense but specualtion and there are other possible explanations.

I notice a few applicants getting LPP now. That could be exceptions to my guess (of some technical kind or another), or they've opened the process (since no more oaths can be scheduled before monday) - or evidence I was just wrong.
I have an alternate theory. It seems the Liberal government, particularly the Immigration Minister (Rachel Bendayan), may be strategically prioritizing the processing of PR applications, especially through the Francophone stream. The timing is telling. The recent slowdown in invitations to apply (ITAs) and the selective focus on certain pathways appear to align closely with the lead-up to the election call and the appointment of the current minister. It is plausible they are accelerating approvals now in anticipation of a possible Conservative government, which would likely scale back immigration levels or tighten certain pathways. In that context, pushing through as many PRs as possible, especially in federally favored categories like Francophone immigration, could be a deliberate move to secure their immigration goals before any major policy changes.
