IRCC CIC has canceled the tests until further notice.

Federal Workers Union is very powerful, it could last for years and years if we keep quiet (they could demand a daily covid ratio of 0 before resuming!).

Thanks! Another waiting period for the test invitation.

So being powerful will get changed if we create noise when they dont even listen to the govt which pays them salary?
I dont think that they will just keep the applications pending till next year just because of powerful union. They will start arranging tests online if they dont agree. Its going to be little delay further like everything else in the economy.
If there is too much problem then cic would cancel the test or take oral exam. So its the cic not deciding about the test and not about the powerful union.

Making noise will force the government to move forward with online testing, or even in-person testing with distancing measures, masks, and hand gels ....

In any case, what is certain: To make noise and better than to be silent and let them play time ...

Contact your federal deputy.

SOmeone from May 2020 group got AOR today

Very Interesting! :D

It was a single applicant too, so something to keep an eye out to see if single applicants move through the system faster on average vs. family applications as more begin to pop up.

Edit: False Alarm - looks like his case was an expedited citizenship application, hence the prioritized processing. :p

Someone from April just got AOR. It was urgent processing though.
Question: Are urgent apps sent to a different address?

The address is the same but there needs to be a mention of it on the envelope.
So they can identify without opening it.

Makes sense! Does that mean they're starting to look at envelops received in May/April now?

No one can be sure of how they are working, but, they might be keeping urgent apps into a separate stack/drawer/room.

Wrote a web form to ask the status, I mailed app on Feb 24, received on Feb 27. Got the response as “However, rest assured that this situation is normal since the responsible office is currently processing applications received before January 14, 2020.”
