That was pretty fast. Did you get AOR1 before sponsorship approval?

hello everyone,

I have submitted for a family sponsorship on December 23rd, i had an email that they received my application and the process started on January 10, my question is how long it will take to have a decision made as my wife is living in canada and i am living outside Canada.

Good luck to all of you

Thanks

@FCS:
Yes indeed. We received AOR1 a week after our application arrived at CIC.

@Nassersamin:
That can vary from application to application. Its not easy to say in general since every case is different.

Hi majesty, I believe that you may be still ahead of most of the February applications. My application was received on 7th Feb and MyCIC seems to still indicate that processing of my application has "not started". Similarly my status on ECAS still only says "Application Received".

Either way, good luck!

Thanks! I am a bit frustrated that they don't send out an email for AOR1. I feel like I have to check all the time on MyCIC account for updates because I don't know if they are sending out emails to us to notify us of docs they need (Schedule A and I still have my partner's Police Certificate from Canada which I didn't include in app because they asked you to send when requested). Since I haven't gotten emails, some part of me thinks maybe they have the wrong email address, even though I checked my app a few times and I didn't make any typo mistakes with my email address).

Hope to hear about my docs soon.

Good luck to you in hearing something from them soon!

I was able to link my application on feb 23 since then i can only see the status of application as "open" nothing else. They haven't requested any documents Im wondering what's going on

Are you able to get updates on MyCIC account (your application is linked to your account)? If you are waiting for Sponsor approval, it shouldn't normally take more than a month from when they start processing your application.

If it does, there might be some problem, in which case you might want to call IRCC.

I'm not really all that knowledgeable about the process, but that is what I would do.

Maybe others here have a better idea. Good luck to you!

Can we link application with just AOR1 or must you wait for SA?

I've tried lnking, but no success so far (mind you we just received AOR1 this morning).

Thanks for any help...

Wow 1 week for AOR1? Is that a record or what? :) Super fast either way. Congrats on SA btw.

No, you don't have to. You just have to provide them employment confirmation letter from your current employer. If possible also provide them your offer letter provided by your employer when you were employed. That should give details like how much you're making, how many hours you work in a week.

Can anyone please tell me Is it necessary to have job letter for spousal sponshorship?
