how do you guys find out about it going in process on background check? do you just check every day or does MYCIC send you an email?

WELCOME TO FEBRUARY 2016 SPOUSAL APPLICANTS FORUM:

All the applicants and sponsors can start this forum with understanding of outland spousal process;


1. SPONSOR expectation during the first step:

a. AOR1 or Application package will be sent back for lack of important document
b. request for missing document or updated document - based on your spousal application
c. Medical, CIC payment, required application forms and Police report check
d. SA = Sponsor Approval email or letter

2. SPONSORED APPLICANT expectation during the second step:

e. AOR2 - from Visa Office
f. missing or updated document request - based on case to case
g. eligibility and criminality check
h. Interview - based on case to case
i. passport request for visa

Hi all,
Im in indonesia, my wife applied outland spousal pr from canada.
-Submit application feb 22nd, 2016
-Got file number march 24th,2016
-Sponsor approved april 4th,2016
-Medical exam&landing fee's request july 4th,2016
-Paid landing fee's july 6th,2016
-Medical check up july 13th,2016
-CIC received e-medical july 15th,2016
-Passport request sept 15th,2016
-Sent passport&photograph to VO Singapore sept 16th,2016
-Passport received & under process at VO singapore Sept 19th,2016

Does anyone knows how long it will take the process? What's the next step? Is it an interview invitation or what?

Do you have "Eligibility" passed before background check turned to "in progress"? Wondering if one needs to finish before the other starts.

Hi Gary,

An update is usually done before an email is send. If there are any changes, CIC will surely send you an email. Checking daily can be so frustrating if at all there are no changes or rather if you "feel" your application is stagnant.

elligibility is still review in progress and background check from not started went to in progress since yesterday.

Hello Everyone!

Anyone applied here for TRV for their spouse online?

My wife pr file is under process and thinking to apply TRV for her online. She is not working and don't have any property papers on her name, living with my parents.

Any suggestions or help would be really appriciated.

MyCIC sent me an email last friday saying that my application has been updated.
