Hi all,

Am applying for PR with my wife as Sponsor (Canadian)
Besides, on 4th August we go 10 days on a usual vacation to Calgary to be with parents in law, in the last 8 years have been already 10 times there

I presume that I will get the Decision Made of my Visa Office in July, and positive.
So, they would ask me to send (my country Spain is Visa exempted) the copy of some pages of the Passport, and then they will send to me the COPR.
So as you see for the dates, I would be going to Canada after the issue of the COPR. However this holiday trip is a tourist one. Because we want to do the landing in the end of the year for some professional reasons. (note: the COPR will have limit of February 2017 as per medical report, so there is no rush)
That poses me some questions:
Can I still land in Calgary in August as tourist , once the Paris office has issued a COPR ?
I have somewhere read that if I arrive to the airport , but do not show the COPR, so not making the “landing in Canada” procedures, then the “landing” is not activated
(note: maybe at arrival in the passport inmigration desk they have the info of my COPR in his computer)
Maybe there is another option that is: when I get in July the PR Letter request from the Visa Office to send the pages of my passport, then send them to Paris in the end of August (after returning from holidays in Canada) . Because is there any deadline days to send them to Paris ?

Yes, I somehow weird that having the possibility to “land” already in August, we want to land later, but we need to stay some more months in Spain to make money that make our life easier in Calgary after the real “landing”

Thank you in advance

Hey February's - We received a "decision made" and got a request for copies of passport pages along with photos at the end of May and couriered everything the next day in order for them to send the COPR but have not heard or received anything back.... How long of a wait was there between decision made and receiving your COPR?

We couriered it to Sydney and included a pre-paid fedex return envelope for reference.

Cheers!

We submitted everything on April 11th, a week after it was requested. A day later they confirmed that they had received everything.
Hey AG317, what sort of confirmation did you receive? Email? I ask because I submitted a PCC and have heard nada.

It took less than a week for us to get it back (keep in mind we sent it to Ottawa, and we live just across the river on the Quebec side).

Hi I just want to ask, is it ok if I get a visit visa like a tourist visa going to canada? Or should I just wait for the approval of my visa application? If I get that, would there be any problems with my existing application under spousal?

Thanks and God bless.

You can always apply and get a trv to go to canada and it wont affect your pr application in any ways unless u fake or misinterpret anything in your visa application
God bless

Just to update since I haven't posted for a while: Interview in Warsaw on June 15th, was less than 10 mins, COPR issued immediately, was in and out of the embassy in less than an hour, landing this weekend at Pearson!!.

Total time from application to landing - less than 4 months, including the fact they gave 6 weeks notice for the interview. Warsaw is quick...and their interviews are as well, although it probably depends on the circumstances.

Congratulations :)

Glad to hear that you had such a nice experience.

Do the applications not get served on a first come first served basis? Doesn't seem fair that people in april are getting DM and I haven't had any correspondence since getting my SA letter >:( . Are some officers just useless or what?

Some February applicants seem to be stuck in a bit of a backlog at Ottawa. The CIC very roughly processes applications in the order they are received, but often this isn't the case (especially if there are document requests). Have you ordered notes? That should help you find out what if anything is holding up your application.

It's a case by case basis :)

Hi there i have applied for my wife under Family class in February 2016, she lives in India and wants to travel to USA for few months so we can meet in US. I was wondering if she gets passport request while still being present in USA, then does she have to go back to India to submit passport to VFS office? or can she stay in USA and submit her passport from USA? and then enter Canada from USA?
Thanks for your help in advance!
