Each case is assigned to two officers. One in Mississauga and the other at your designated visa office (Ottawa, London etc)

That is correct. For eligibility the overseas VO will have the designated officer evaluate the genuinity of the relationship and make a decision- either recommend pass or recommend interview. The file will then be forwarded back to CPC-M where a second officer will make the final determination, taking into account the suggested outcome of the overseas VO.

Hi Truthprev,

There is some information Eagle333 has posted in the thread called "GCMS NOTES WELL EXPLAINED HAS NEVER BEFORE UNTIL NOW"
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/gcms-notes-well-explained-has-never-before-until-now-t390292.0.html

I also had a document request for a RCMP background check, which has been submitted.

Hope this helps!
Hi IsAJO. Thank you so much for sharing it... i have gone through some 15 pages in that thread. It does not seem to fit my condition so far but one thing is clear if i order my GCMS notes, i would be able to determine if they have put the file on hold or not from some codes and also if there are any red flags.
Thanks again wishing you good luck and i will keep posting my updates on this thread.

I am not sure which VO you are going through, but I have found checking out the Nov-Jan spreadsheets have been super helpful in giving ideas of processing times with document requests as well.

Good luck! :)

Hi everyone! Just a quick update to say that we (finally!) received the CSQ. I logged it in the spreadsheet but for anyone wondering or going through the same thing, it took 49 days from the day MIDI received the application to the day we received the approval, which is longer than most/the average, but yay! Now back to waiting. If only London VO was as fast as Ottawa! :)

Yep, you are right IsAJo, i was myself doing this in February but back then i was not requested the docs. I think now is the right time to go through those spreadsheets.
My VO is Ankara.

Nope. Lima is still waiting too. And ours is supposed to be the second fastest office. HA >:(

Hi AG317- I see in the spreadsheet that you have been requested additional docs on 6th April 2016. Have you already submitted the docs, if yes what date? We have been requested the docs too that;s why I am asking you. We have not yet submitted the docs, though.

Hi! Im new here (I cant update my profile because I must have 10 posts)
well, 3 quickly questions!!
1.How fast is Mexico office?
2. When they will return your passport, they give you a specific date to be in canada (landed)? or a specific time to arrive.
(example: "You have to Land on 15 June? OR You have seven days to Land (max 15 june)")
3. That happens when you landed?

Hi,

According to your profile you have 11 posts lol.

1. Mexico thread is probably best to answer questions about process times.

2. Your COPR will be valid until your medical expires. So for example if it takes 9 months to process and you did your medical exam 1 month before sending the application, you'll have 2 months to land. Sometimes, CIC will extend the validity of your medical.

3. I'm going to assume you mean "what" happened when you land, and that is you become a Permanent Resident of course ;)

Hi truthprev, our Visa Office asked for another copy of my husbands birth certificate, more police records, and his FBI clearance (he used to live in the US)
We submitted everything on April 11th, a week after it was requested. A day later they confirmed that they had received everything.

Nothing but deadly silence ever since!

Thanks AG317, that helps. We were requested the Police certificates on 27th April, we have yet not submitted as my spouse lived in bunch of countries for more than 6 months. It will take us some time toget those.
Let us keep in touch because i want to know, well it's not i want to but i am like curious how much time does it take to DM after they receive the requested docs. You said they received your docs in April and yours is one of the fastest VO, i guess we are looking at the good news anytime this month.

Good Luck. and lets keep each other posted

3. What happens when you land are as follows: the Immigration Officer will go through your CoPR with you and make sure that all your information that is printed on the CoPR is correct and properly filled out. At which point he will ask you to fill in some details (by-hand) - such as to make sure you have not been convicted of a crime etc. The officer will ask you what your address in Canada is. You will sign the CoPR in front of the officer. We had to declare on our CoPR that we have a daughter and she is already a Canadian Citizen (as we did not include her in the sponsorship) - the officer told us it was just a safety measure. We did not have a goods to follow form (B4). The officer will then fill out by hand where you landed, on what date, and on what flight (if you do it by air). Since we did ours by land, he wrote "Land" next to the Flight No. option. The officer will then stamp your passport and staple your CoPR in your passport. That is all.

Anyone who landed yet receive their PR card? I think CanAussie was the only one that landed before me...in that case its been about six weeks for both of us. It's still a few more days until it's officially six weeks, which I guess then I have to contact them.

I am expecting it to come in 8 weeks (minimum). Since I landed about a month after you - I am thinking it will be here in August :)

Please let me know when you receive yours!
