Hello, I have been reading alot of these comments ....... ant truth to it? ANYONE

I have a question about the 'in process' status. I know on the CIC website it states that 'in process' means that the application is being checked, they will notify the applicant if any documents are missing or they may request an interview, etc. However, as I have been going through the forum I have noticed some people saying that:
a) their status goes to in process AFTER the interview or
b) the fact that their status has been changed to in process means that the interview has been waived.

Has anyone got any idea whether the 'in process' status may signify that there may be no need for an interview? Our application was received at the London visa office in February and went to in process on April 23rd 2013, and it would be great if we had some indicator regarding our progress....I can't wait for this whole ordeal to end...I miss my husband terribly Sad

Thanks for your replies, and good luck to everyone playing the waiting game like ourselves!

I would say ECAS is the most unreliable tool made on earth. The best way to find out if interview has been waived is by ordering GCMS notes.

CIC put in the third line on the PA side on March 28. We received an e-mail (AOR2) today stating they received our file on March 22. The third line and AOR2 are different for my situation. However, I have read that some VOs do not issue the e-mail, so the third line is essentially the same as the AOR2.

Hope that helps and all the best!

Congrats!

GCMS notes??????????????????????? ???

Yes, look around in the threads there's ample information available on GCMS notes and how to order them. They basically contain your immigration officer notes on your file and bunch of other information.

Here's a good start:

As mentioned above, ordering your notes will tell you if the interview has actually been waived.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the clarifications. i will ask my husband for this status and if this aor2 is different per visa office, in terms of information dissemination.

I'm sponsoring my Italian husband. Did you have to do the medical exam? I haven't found any info on this and where to do the exam. Still waiting for the Rome Embassy to reply to my email.

You could check directly at http://www.cic.gc.ca/pp-md/pp-list.aspx in Italy physicians are available in Roma and Milano. :)

Everyone without exceptions are required to have a medical exam, so called up front medical report.

Thanks. I checked with my sponsor earlier, no email was received.

What are GCMS notes? Do we all have to order them? I sort of read the thread CofRed sent but I can barely understand it. ???

Global Case Management System (GCMS) is CIC system used to process applications.

The GCMS will be a computer printout which willl have the details of the points calculations, immigration officer's notes, program assistant's notes, details of the processing stages passed, etc.

Hope this helps. Based on information on this forum, I will personally request the GCMS about 2-3 months after the visa office has started processing the application.

GCMS = Global Case Management System

This is the system CIC uses to treat all applications. Ordering them gives you a much more detailed description of everything that they have done, haven't started yet, or are doing. Some things might be redacted for privacy issues.

Yes you have to order them.

At this stage in the game, not much will be shown on it. It's best to wait a few months before doing this.
