Yes, Ameen! It is kinda worrying but at the same time I have a lot of time in my processing left. I sent in a case specific inquiry and attached the e-medical results again so hopefully there won't be unnecessary delays.

Thanks. I'm Canadian and have been living in Italy with my Italian husband for 7 years now so I'm applying outland. Still in the gathering documents stage. We're now starting the process of sponsorship to live in Ontario Canada. We have no dependents. I was thinking of hiring someone to look over my application but since I live in Italy, I'm not sure how to do that. The application process seems quite overwhelming. There is some conflicting info as well. I read that Italians don't have to do the medical exam. I emailed the embassy in Rome but no reply yet and I haven't been able to find a doctor to do the medical exam, not do I have the form mentioned that I think the embassy is going to give me.

My husband works in Italy, does he need a letter from his employer? I'm guessing that we both don't have to submit proof of income but that we do have to submit last years tax assessments. I have no tax assessments from Canada as I have to pay taxes in Italy. Do I attach my Italian tax assessment? What is the minimum necessary income requirement?

Any additional information you can give to make the application process easier would be great. I want to apply from Italy so that we can arrive in Canada together. After applying, how long before we can fly over? Because It would be great to be able to go this year, even this summer. I would also like my husband to have a health card when he arrives. I know I have a lot of questions.

Thank you. I really appreciate any help I can get from anyone.

Hi, don't worry, we were very overwhelmed when we first started our process too.
We hired a representative who has been great and helped us with our papers. We just received our SA last week and our file has been transferred to our VO now.
We dealed with Global Crossing Immigration. The Guys name is Marc Laforce. He has an office in Texas as well as in Montreal
Feel free to contact him if you should need to

Good Luck!!

Hope it'd show up soon!!

So weird that mine has been saying medical results had been received for over a week without SA - goes to show how variable each case is or perhaps the different processing ways of each officer...

Basically notes that the officer makes as s/he goes through an application. I imagine that it adheres to some kind of rubric, like marking a post secondary essay kinda thing.

Lots of posts on this forum on how to order them. All I did was google “GCMS notes order free site: canadavisa". i read that u can order it for free under the privacy act if you are a canadian citizen currently residing in Canada, which I am.

I'm 100% positive that i would be ordering them again when my application moves onto stage 2. Didn't think i needed to order them so early on... but what the heck, doesn't hurt to test the system and have a glimpse of behind the scenes.

Thank you, Thank you!

Hey, thanks for the reply. I am sending the whole package to Missisauga, but once I get SA, CIC would send it to the visa office closest to us right? We are currently living in Germany, but my husband is an Italian citizen... so just hoping it gets sent to Vienna. I was just wondering in case we get a choice in the matter... :)

I'm sponsoring my Italian husband. Did you have to do the medical exam? I haven't found any info on this and where to do the exam. Still waiting for the Rome Embassy to reply to my email.

Hi Engineered_by_God,

Did you received any emils for this update? We have the same status but i havnt received any email for the 3rd line.

Thanks.

CIC put in the third line on the PA side on March 28. We received an e-mail (AOR2) today stating they received our file on March 22. The third line and AOR2 are different for my situation. However, I have read that some VOs do not issue the e-mail, so the third line is essentially the same as the AOR2.

Hope that helps and all the best!

Hi! I saw your earlier post and yes it can really daunting - however, we were able to do it without a representative, but every situation is different.
Yes, we did have to do the medical exam - if you look through the guides specifically for western Europe, it does specify that. Can be found here and scroll down to "Part 3" http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp

There's a list of CIC approved doctors that can perform the exam (it can't be done by your fam dr unfortunately) When I was looking it up there were only drs in Rome or Milan. Fortunately we live in Munich, so there was one in our city. You can find the doctors through this site: http://www.cic.gc.ca/pp-md/pp-list.aspx

I would wait until you are almost done collecting all of your documents/translations/etc before doing the medical exam, because it expires 1 year after completing it, since I know how long it can take to get certain documents in Italy.

Hope that helped! Let me know if you have other Italy specific q's ;D

Thanks for the info. Maybe Manila VO doesn't send any AOR2 or maybe they'll be sending the AOR2 by next week. BTW, do you have any idea on what the 4th line states on the PA side? I'm just curious.

Thanks.

Hello, I have been reading alot of these comments ....... ant truth to it? ANYONE

I have a question about the 'in process' status. I know on the CIC website it states that 'in process' means that the application is being checked, they will notify the applicant if any documents are missing or they may request an interview, etc. However, as I have been going through the forum I have noticed some people saying that:
a) their status goes to in process AFTER the interview or
b) the fact that their status has been changed to in process means that the interview has been waived.

Has anyone got any idea whether the 'in process' status may signify that there may be no need for an interview? Our application was received at the London visa office in February and went to in process on April 23rd 2013, and it would be great if we had some indicator regarding our progress....I can't wait for this whole ordeal to end...I miss my husband terribly Sad

Thanks for your replies, and good luck to everyone playing the waiting game like ourselves!
