I'm applying for my wife (Russian Citizen). I'm a Canadian citizen. She did her medical in Italy december 13th 2014. I live in Toronto. We applied through Moscow, which is now getting re-routed through Warsaw for Russian citizens. We could have also applied through the US and Italy (She works in both countries), as she has PR in both of those countries. But her Italian PR might expire before the application process is finished, and The US processing time seems ungodly long. So we just decided to do it through Russia. She could extended her Italian PR by living there over 6 months, but its more for tax reasons that she needs to stay in the USA. and its Chris btw haha.

How about you Mapleson? What is your situation?
My wife is Cuban. I'm Canadian born, dual citizen (UK). I'm in Toronto and applying through Havana. All my dates on in the sidebar. I'm pestering people who have posted information on the forums, but aren't included on the spreadsheet, as more data means a clearer picture of what's happening for everyone. Plus, it keeps me occupied during the awful wait.

Yea, From the looks of it SA is about 5-7 days from AOR. So I would check back next week after that goes through. That is just the average, there are many cases that get processed in 1-2 days, and a few 18 days and beyond. There are others that still say unprocessed, but I attribute that more to people neglecting to update the spreadsheet.

Best of luck!

I just checked right now and I can log in now. I haven't gotten a approval yet though

Just read my AOR email!! We were Feb 16th. I think I have filled in the info on the spreadsheet but will check in the morning.

Haha thanks, i was already on the spread sheet, line 56. So I deleted the one that you put down. But thanks! I appreciate it. Best of luck with your application. Is she going to apply for a TRV in the interim period?

Even better. I forgot to say my step-daughter in on the application as well. She doesn't finish the school year until July 3, so we'll try for a TRV nearer that point. However, we aren't holding our breath because of a lot of ties here and few there.

1) She is a doctor, but has been off work since November (in Cuba they do 3 year contracts and hers was up for renewal).
2) Her brother immigrated here last June.
3) Not sure if to try for both to come (better for us) or just her (better evidence of returning).
4) All our paperwork is in our PR Family application, and I'm not sure what I have photos of and what not.

Yea, I don't want to sound crass, but applying just for her would lend a lot more credence to her claim of returning home to Cuba. I have heard it is quite difficult to get a TRV while you have a PRV is still in process. Don't let it discourage you though, you might as well give it a shot. I don't know if/when she intends to renew her contract, but that would certainly help too.

I have a good friend who is getting married here in Toronto in August, and I am part of the wedding party. So being the only person married among my friends it would be nice to bring out the wife (I'm 27 she's 26). Hopefully the fact that she is employed in the United States and EU helps. Basically I got her company in the USA to write a letter saying that if she needs to be back in NYC by Sept 1st to fulfill her contractual obligations. Who knows haha. But keep in touch and I'll let you know how our application is coming along. Best of Luck!

She didn't renew or else you have to stay in Cuba until 2017.

Travel history to Western Countries is a positive supporting fact. Make sure to document this well that she's never overstayed other opportunities.

I called immigration today I sent my application in feb 4 i sent it from Jamaica because I was there visiting my husband... still nothing showing nothing in the system that I sent my application in I checked Canada post and it says delivered they said it's delivered on the 6th... my question is... does your application show at all when they receive it or do I have to wait until they start processing it....

CIC do have the information when the application is received. Temporary file is created when they receive the application. I spoke to an agent and he gave me the file #.

They had nothing on file and the post office said it was delivered Feb 6 how is this possible I'm stressing

It is, she has bank accounts and has lived in Europe, USA, Hong Kong, Singapore since 2010. So it should be fine. She still has all the visas with exit stamps. But who knows.
