AOR received! Today at 6 pm :). Woohoo!

EDIT: When I go to log in on the cic website with my number that I have now, do I put me (the sponsors) info at the bottom, or my wife's? :) (I know it doesn't work yet, but once it does).

You put the sponsor's name. So your name, birthday, and birth country. Congrats!!

Congrats to rash04, netkid, awesomeg and seronic.. ;) Anyone else received a very good news today??.. :)

Ok, I feel like I have been looking for weeks for this information and I just can't find it so I was wondering if you guys could help clarify what to expect over the next few months.

I have my SA and my visa was forwarded to Ottawa. Yay!

But now what. I know that I am waiting to hear from the visa office, but am I supposed to be doing anything right now?

Am I supposed to be applying for an Open Work Permit now? Or later? Or ever?

What happens once you are approved? Do they give you a certain amount of time or a date that you are supposed to be in Canada by?

It's so hard to find information about what happens after and I hope you guys can point me in the right direction.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!! (:

There's probably nothing you need to be doing just now until you hear from them. If they need anything else, they will tell you. If you were going to Quebec, you would have to get a CSQ from the province.

You can apply for an Open Work Permit with an inland application, because those take much longer. With an outland application, you just wait for the PR and then you don't need a work permit.

There is a time limit once you are approved. It has to be before your medical is one year old (unless they decide to extend it a bit) and it has to be before your passport expires. I think that might be the only limits.

Congradulations on your AOR/SA guyz.

Good Luck for the rest of the process..keep us posted.

Thanks

Gonna throw my question out again since I think it might've accidentally been overlooked.

We were informed on the 10th of March that our Option C was missing, we sent it in the same day of the notification and it was delivered before the weekend. How long usually is the wait if you had missing items in your package? A month? Do they just set it aside until the 45 days is up and then check to see if your missing items were sent in?

If you identify clearly you Option "C" it should go directly to your file and being taken care of,
I would call them to know if the document reached your file... my advise to you is like the one I received yesterday,
Call... they are there to answer questions... I called as soon as they open the lines for Manitoba at 8.00 am and I got an answer right away,
they did not made me wait... good luck..

The CIC call centre number is: 1 - 888 -242 -2100

Depends on your VO, some send AOR others don't.

Hey, guys!
Could you help me, please! Who got AOR and SA via email, could you tell me the email address they were sent from?
Would appreciate it a lot, thanks!

Hopefully the next week will be more active :)

Hi, please hear my story. I got married in the Philippines. And my husband is now in Canada and I am here the Philippines. Is it possible that my husband can file a divorce there in Canada even though we got married here?

If yes, will I be notified by the Canadian court about the divorce proceedings? You see I heard a lot of stories to the effect that Filipinos are getting divorce in Canada and got married again in Canada. I heard that the reason this is commonly done it’s because divorce is cheaper and easier than having an annulment proceedings in the Philippines.
And here's another thing we had a son.we had undergone our medical examination at a panel physician last january.
I didnt know if my husband filed our application.because last month he just told me he wants to divorce me.
Please I really need an answer about this issue. I hope you can clear my mind on these matters. Thank you very much and more power to you! God bless!
