Normally yes, unless the lcoal office runs again some checks and decide they want to have more info (finger prints, RQ ...), which I hope not ☺
SO far, CIC told me everything looks fine in my file
What about you?

Welcome to this forum Driss. Everybody's case is different, but people with similar timelines to yours have already been invited to take the test. If you have work/education experience, you might be invited in a month.

Thank you for your reply Bikar.
I was wondering if i tell CIC about my travel plan, would that make them delay my test by placing my file in the bottom of the pile? Do you know any case like that?
Or in case i miss my test while outside of Canada? I read in the CIC website that they accept only some specific reasons for missing the test.
I also have a lot of work experience and university education in Canada.
I appreciate any information that will help me make a decision before i leave.
Ps: i am planning to travel to Europe and Asia for about 5 to 6 weeks!

Thanks a lot!

If you have worked or attended education programs in Canada, it shows you are settling down, so CIC will favorably look at your file. For example, my wife had not worked, but she had attended an ESL class for a few months, and she received an RQ. Hope this helps. Bikar

Hi Driss,

I am not sure what to say. You usually receive the test date around 1-2 weeks in advance. If I were you, I would not call the CIC, but I would be prepared to fly back as soon as I received a test date. Bikar

I think if you will be out of Canada for months, then you have to inform CIC, otherwise, it shouldn't be a big deal. It also depends on how fast or slow your local office is.
Thank you IamAlbertan,
my local office is ottawa.
how does it compare to others?

thanks

Hello Folks,

My Received line disappeared today.

What is more interesting is, it disappeared today, Sunday morning.
I checked Saturday afternoon and Received line was there.
Looks like CIC is working on Sundays also.

My Timeline:

Application Received: March 5th, 2014

Started Processing: April 15th, 2014

Received Line Disappeared: July 13th (Sunday Morning)

Folks any idea, what can I expect received line disappearing means ?

:-X

Hi Polarbear,

Nobody knows for sure what it means, but I have a theory. When the received line disappears, it might mean that your file has been transferred to a local office, and either of these two things: 1) You are good, and you are in line to be called for your citizenship test; Or 2) You will receive a Residence Questionnaire.

Regarding cic working days, yes, I agree with you that they are working hard. I have a friend who took his citizenship test on a Sunday.

By the way, do you know your local office?

My timeline..
I sent my individual application Feb 8
Received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on February 13, 2014.
Started processing your application on March 26, 2014
Sent you a notice on June 26, 2014 to appear and write the citizenship test on July 14, 2014

Wrote the test today, incredibly easy, 20/20 :)
Interview was just the officer validating my passport stamps and getting an overview of what I've been up to here since arriving. One question about why one of the passport stamps was not recorded in my application, answered that it was a day trip. He said Oath will be in 2 weeks and invitation will be mailed. If the Oath is indeed in 2-3 weeks, application -> passport in hand would have taken 6 months.

Sorry I don't. I was obsessed with tracking my application during my PR application but didn't really care as much about the citizenship application because nothing really changes technically! But I'm glad it done though!
