Oh the UCI is good enough. It shows both applications. Mine says Decision Made but others just have Application Received even after they get approval. Some officers don't seem to update very promptly. I wouldn't worry about Ecas. Just wait for emails and letters!

I got email today confirming receipt of my application with UCI number and File number. When I try checking the status online, it says file not found. Anyone know if status is available immediately or do I need to wait. Thanks.

Application:
Mailed on Feb 24
Received by CIC-M: Feb 27
Visa Office: New Delhi
Destination Province: Ontario

Yes same happened to me. It worked after 2 days since that email.

Yea I agree. New Delhi do have a tendency to request the Passport almost right away and they just hold it on the file..

The real wait starts now though... who knows how long they will take from here.. But for sure it will little better to see some movement after waiting for over 3 months in Mississauga.

Thanks!

I don't know why ND is requesting to submit our passport and then just hold it with our file. People saying ND is super fast to issuing visa compare to other visa offices. i don't know what they are doing there. Once our file is required all the eligibility then they should issue our visa and re-unite with our loved once. It used to be people getting their passport back with visa within 2-3 weeks, and now they just holding it.

Does anyone knows who getting their passport back in a month from New Delhi Visa office?

It seems as though there are a huge number of applicants from India...which is great...and I really can't wait to get back home to go to a good Indian restaurant! Love the food!!!!

I read that Chinese and Indian applicants are (sort of) preferred by CIC...

Visa Office.

Check the main page for the new medical rules.

Validity
You can only use your examination results in your application for 12 months from when you had the examination. If you are not admitted to Canada as a permanent resident within this time, you will be required to undergo another examination.

There's no mention of extension... I'm not sure where you got your info from, is it a valid source?

If I am understanding it correctly, the extension of the validity of the medical can only be done if the applicant underwent the medical in the previous 15 months. If it is longer than 15 months since the medical, then re-medical will still be necessary.

The extension of an expired or soon-to-expire medical will also only be possible when the validity of the medical is the very last thing that is preventing a final decision on an application and not before that point, so if the application only reaches that point after 15 months have elapsed, then the extension cannot happen and a re-medical will still have to be requested.

It also appears that the medical extension is a completely internal process - the applicant doesn't have to take any action.

exactly!!! i understood the same thing; it is still debatable if someone has to renew their medical exam or not; and i guess if time is an important factor the applicants can renew the medicals by themselves and update the embassy; like this when the visa is ready it will b given straight away without waiting then to have the new medicals (of course this practice differs from embassy to embassy) :)

Did you find the thread with the new rules? I don't think you did. Ocanadiana posted it.

Deficient posted the manual link here ;) that's the CIC source :) :) :)

Ok they didn't mail an approval letter. I've been checking since they supposedly sent it on May 16. It's June! And USPS runs on Saturday! So there's no way it would take that long to get here. I know someone in January who never got an approval email or letter. And now their VO has no record of their app. Bummer. :(
