I am like dominic and my app was received in FEV 7 but I still have not info and on my screen it says "working on applications received jan 31"
and that is after i clear m cache..... I cannot get into the ecas still.....

Don't stress about it and don't worry it's likely not your computer. Cache is not simply on your machine but it can be on your ISP servers, or any number of hops that your trace route takes on the way to getting to the page you are talking about. You can clean your cache on your machine every five seconds but if your ISP saves cached pages in their proxy for say 48 hours, you will not be able to see the new info until that time frame expires. There is no way of knowing what they have set up wise on their boxes without opening a ticket and asking them, but it is pretty rare these days for anyone to cache web traffic for more than a couple of days..

As they are sending snail mail to Thailand and I will not be back in Bangkok until the 25th of March I assume it will be waiting for us at home when we get there.. ok now it's a little nerve wrecking wondering whether it's a ya or a nay

Congrats Bankokcanuk. You'll probably received the letter soon. We have the same timeframe and VO. My wife in CA received the confirmation letter last March 11 saying that the sponsorship was approved and that they forwarded the application to CIC SG. ;D

I have not told my wife about the update yet as I figured if I told her it was good and the letter came saying otherwise it would be rather crushing.. :'(

Well, it's rare that a sponsor is not approved. With you being abroad, I know you had to establish that your ties to Canada were intact and you had taken steps to relocate, and I'm assuming you did all that...can't see you not doing it well, considering your well-thought-out posts.

Read a few cases in CanLII of sponsors not being approved because they weren't in the country, but in a lot of cases they were PRs who hadn't stayed in country for the processing of the application, and in the one case of a citizen, she was so vague about her plans to relocate, they decided they couldn't rely on it.

And positive is the only way to go with Immigration...the alternative sucks.

Thanks for the kind words, I did think with invite letters from parents to stay there and info about the schools we were talking about having our son registered in and my work plans we made a reasonable case.. but you never really know how someone else will see things.

Don't worry I wasn't meaning to be negative just a realist... I can only imagine the pain of telling my wife the first stage was done and approved to have to tell her later the letter says otherwise haha... that would be heart breaking, so I do like your rational for the positive thoughts and I think I will go it

Hello,

I forgot to update that my application was received at CPC-M on 2/28/11. I have been very busy with moving back to Canada and starting my new job!

We just moved up from the U.S. and are now residing in Saskatchewan....where it has been brrrrrrr! Our vans don't have block heaters so we have not been able to start one since the night we arrived! I was hoping to avoid the really cold weather by coming in March but no such luck . Of course being originally from Winnipeg, I knew that March can still be quite chilly on the prairies. The funniest thing is that we had to drive around town here with our canoe on top of our van (until we could find a place to store it) and people were giving us pretty strange looks.....like where do these crazy Americans (of course we have U.S. license plates) think they are going to go canoeing around here....the lakes are frozen solid!

The officer we had at the border crossing when we entered was very nice and gave my husband a 6 month visitor visa so he could accompany me and our children into Canada. We have been married for 14 years and he is presently a stay-at-home dad so we were really hoping that we could stay together. He also let me import both of our vehicles since they are titled in both of our names and he said they couldn't exactly split it in half if they had to deport him. Now we just wait and see!

Just to update that we re-send our app fees ($1040) on Feb 18. ...after we filed the app on Feb 7. We sent the wrong amount of money, so CIC ask my husband to correct this matter. I wonder if i should start counting the 37 days of the CIC timelines from Feb 7 or Feb 18? Because some of the people that filed on the 7th have receive the sponsorship approvement already but nos us... :-[
