An AOR is written correspondence from the visa office to the applicant, it's not usually an update from eCAS.

So the ecas update saying the application was received in buffalo doesn't mean the application was received? Isn't that what an AOR is?

Our E-cas was updated over the weekend too, saying my application was received on March 10th.

Small setback Saturday when I realized that even though I lived in England a few years ago for just under 6 months, since the PR application doesn't ask for specific dates when listing previous places you've lived (just month and year) it will look to CIC like I was there for the whole 6 months - I just said October to April, didn't think to explain anywhere that it was from end of October to early April, so not quite 6. So they will probably be asking for a background check from the UK. I got very upset with myself for not realizing this until now. So now trying to find a way to pay for that background check, since ACRO will ONLY take payment in pounds sterling, no card or online payments, and banks around here will not do that for me.... I am praying I can get it sorted in time so Buffalo doesn't throw my application to the bottom of the pile. :(

No. Buffalo will send you a letter saying they have received the file and advising you on the estimated processing time and how to go about communicating with them if there is anything else they require from you, that will be the AOR. They usually include bar codes to be attached to any additional correspondence you send them. eCAS saying they have received the file is just a system update.

Hey Guys, checked this morning, my application has also been recvd by Buffalo folks on March 10th. They have been quite decent with the time lines, don't wana jinx it but lets see by when they will send the AOR now. Good luck to everyone else this week guys!!

congrats buffalo toronro

you mean you got your sponsorship approval in mail. That is not the AOR. AOR is sent by the Buffalo office to the applicant and it takes about 2 months after sponsorship approval. I was for one second shocked to see AOR received by a Feb. applicant :D

sorry. you are right...i wish it was the aor.
so 2 month wait now until further communication?
also my ecas says decision made, and not in progress?

When Buffalo begins working on the file, they send the AOR, and along with it Buffalo usually sends bar codes to be attached to any further correspondence or information requested from you.

The "Decision Made" is regarding the sponsorship approval. The next eCAS update will be "in process" from Buffalo.

Once they have reviewed your file, if they need any further information, or wish to schedule an interview, you will be advised.

If they initially conclude that further documents or an interview will not be necessary, you might be so advised.

When all processing (including any interviews) is done, then it will be Decision Made, with a passport request if the decision is positive.

according to the Outland buffalo thread cic is changing their systems as of February and march. These result in faster AORs for us. So our files are getting scanned on arrival and these ecas updates are our AORs. So yay!!!!

I'm currently in Manila but checked online and said App received Feb 11th, Decision made March 10th. I expect a letter in my mailbox when I arrive home on the 20th. :D

Just submitted the applications to the MICC today ... they said there would be a reply in a month. Does Buffalo continue to process things while they're waiting for the MICC? Or do we have to wait to get the selection certificate?
