Certainly does help! So, when we send it in, does it get opened right away? THEN put in the queue? or does it just get put in without opening at all?samreentariq said:Hi Akheya and all Feb Applicants,
I hope thus post will provide answers to how the process works to my understanding and can be used as a reference point just seen the same question floating around again and again. The process from my understanding goes in 6 stages :
1) You complete the application as per instructions and send it to Sydney , NS to the provided address.
2) The only way for you to know at this point if CIC received the application successfully is if you asked for a signature option or tracked it, if the tracker from the courier shows delivered and if you paid for signature and see it, it effectively gives you peace of mind it is now in CIC hands.
3) CIC at this stage will perform preliminary checks in your app, opening it, doing a quick scan to ensure the correct fees are paid, all required paperwork is there etc. If something is not right your application will be returned to you, this seems to happen really quick of late compared to 2-3 months before. CIC will also initiate background checks at this stage.
4) Applicants will receive an e-mail AoR (Acknowledgement of Receipt) [This used to take about 2-4 months but seems to be speeding up we have to keep an eye on the Jan guys as that will give us more data and indication how fast this goes]. This is the stage where your file is assigned to a CO (Citizenship officer) who will proceed with the case further. Also about 3-5 days of receiving the email AoR your online account (ECAS) should be active. You can then login online and track the status of your application (you can use your Client UCI number to log in. )
5) If all is ok with your file it will get transferred to your local office whose job is to check their schedules and arrange a Test date, you should receive the test invitation by snail mail but also see movement in the online application.
6) Once you successfully pass the test on test day, an officer will hold a short interview to check all your documents are fine, update the information and then it should be another 1-2 months fot oyu to get your oath invite.
- I hope this will help as a reference point, sp for now we wait and see how Jan goes.
I am just getting paranoid because I put in address slightly differently than what it stated (Although it was delivered to 47 Dorchester according to FedEx).
I put Case Processing, CIC - Grant Adults, 49 Dorchester street, Sydney B1P5Z2.
Any insight would be good
