You can.. but the application will take 12-14 weeks. it will treated as another application. You cant add finger prints to your existing application i think

Hi there,

I have a question regarding this PCC.
I have never lived in the US but visit and stay for like 3-4 months every year for the last 2 years (my family stays in the US). I live in Nigeria.
After I finished filling the EE forms, a checklist came up asking me for multiple PCC.
My understanding is that since I have never lived in the US, I do not need a PCC from the US. But I dont know why I am being asked for multiple. Do they add up the years? Has anyone been in this situation before? IS there a way to know which ones I am required to submit? Please help me. This thing is very confusing.

thanks niagary.

From the date it is charged, it is usually 2 weeks before they post the letter. So yours will be coming very soon.

My USA PCC experience:

Total time: 14 weeks
Sent application + fingerprints using international courier: Oct 2nd 2014
My credit card was charged on: Dec 11th 2014
Received PCC on: Jan 24th 2015
Charges: 18$ USD for application + 70$ CAD for fingerprints + 30$ CAD for courier = Total approx 135$ CAD

I submitted a comment to CIC to start accepting FBI reports from authorized private agencies. I mentioned two reasons.
1. Private agencies use electronic fingerprints and hence are quick and much less likely that fingerprints get rejected
2. Electronic fingerprints are more accurate and so the FBI report will also be more accurate

If many of us request this they may accept it. So go to secure dot cic dot gc dot ca/feedback-retroaction/form-forme-eng.aspx?type=2 and submit your comment.

Where/how did you get the fingerprinting done for FBI PCC? Did you go to a local Police precinct?

We went to local RCMP and asked if they can do it. We had to come few times to catch the fingerprinting officer at work. They charged about 20-25$ for that.
