Hello everyone,

I am facing a unique issue and need your help. My Medicals and all the PCC's were sent to NDVO back in Nov 2014. Since Oct 2014 I have been waiting for my FBI PCC. The issue is with my fingerprints which after 8 sets of fingerprints are not readable by the FBI authorities. So as i understand, the ridges are not clear and hence the system doesn't accept them. This is my 3rd attempt at FBI( Last few sets are currently in process which will take close to 2 more months as of now). Meanwhile, I have gone ahead and taken fingerprints for State PCC, which too were not readable but since NJ State churns out report based on DOB as last resort I am waiting to receive it this week. My plan is to send the State PCC meanwhile.

I want to ask forum members if they have any suggestions, heard any such cases if state PCC has been accepted, not accepted, any other way out. I cannot forever wait for fbi pcc which may or may not happen.

Please send VO officer the rejection letter and email transcripts with FBI customer service. Wait for state PCC and send it to VO and then you can just wait and hope for waiver. Some folks have got FBI waived but its sole decision of visa officer. We can't expext to get waived because someone else was. In the mean time wait for FBI PCC. Where did you take the fingerprints? Try a private fingerprinting firm (might have to shell more money) but you might get lucky.

Don't lose hope and all the best...

Angelinyc, I feel your pain, I just posted the same scenario as yours one post before yours. If you are in the US, you can go to the private organizations and get fingerprinted via livescan if possible. That way, they should be able to tell if they are accepted or not. At least that's what my friend did for her US pr application. I had my fingerprints taken at MA and SG police headquarters and both were rejected. The reply was to use hand lotion prior to fingerprinting process. I have no idea if CIC accepts state police clearance. Perhaps seniors can respond to this question?

Thanks for your input and wishes Jithesh. Planning to do that. Got the fingerprints done from the local police HQ here by a fingerprinting technician. He is an experienced technician . Spent 45 minutes taking 4 sets of fingerprints. I know it is an issue with the ridges of my fingers not being clear. I have not heard of anyone else getting waived, but hoping the VO understands my case esp. since its been more than 6 months the entire process has been stuck at FBI PCC and it will take 2 more months for the third set.

happyca, livescan is not accepted by fbi for non citizens. They only accept prints on paper and i am pretty sure of that. I hope there is a way out for us people. Its just frustrating to wait endlessly with fbi to only hear that they cant read the prints :(

Application reached FBI: Feb 2nd, 2015
My fingerprint accepted and completed on April 22nd, 2015
Application mailed out: April 24th, 2015

I have made a request for change in address from India to canada, they verified me before asking that my report has been mailed out on my new address.

Thanks everyone.

I didn't know livescan is not accepted. Yes, it is a lengthy process to hear back whether the prints are accepted or not. It would be much easier if I had only lived in 1 state in the US but I have lived in 3 states and CA also requires the fingerprints for processing.

Let me know how the VO respond to your case and hopefully they will waive it.

FBI doesn't accept livescan results transmitted online, but one can always get livescan done and get them printed on FD-258 paper, which can then be sent to FBI. I did that and they are with FBI right now as my third attempt.

Regards

I couldn't find livescan option in Singapore. I will be heading to the CID and hopefully third time is a charm!

Hi Seniors,

I sent the finger prints for me and my wife to FBI last month alongwith the application, and as per FedEx tracking #, it reached them on 27-Mar-2015. I have not received any kind of acknowledgement from FBI yet.

When can I expect the acknowledgement from FBI and when can I contact them if my finger prints were accepted or not. I sent the fees in the form of DD check.

Please advise.

Thanks.
