It is true that the channelers won't do the livescan for non-citizens, but I went to the state police department headquarters. They only did the livescan if FBI has rejected your inkprints earlier. I was already rejected twice, not due to any issue with my fingers (I am sure), but due to illegible prints (poor printing as such).

Regards

I did fingerprinting at the police headquarters, once in MA and another in SG. The rejection for MA was illegible prints but I already left the US and second one with SG was either too dry/moist. I am hoping third time is the charm because the police headquarter in SG is the only place for the fingerprinting process. I have submitted all the docs last week asking for extension thinking the second set would be ok. Have you written to VO to ask for extra extension or what would be the step to take in this situation?

Does anyone know the latest processing date?

Is there anyone in this forum who got his/her courier delivered to NDVO and got the name of some guard/person instead of cic stamp as a proof of delivery/signed by...?

Please confirm

Hal2014 thanks for the very insightful post; please what should one look out for when taking the finger prints at a livescan location? i.e. what are those things that will make the finger prints okay for FBI acceptance?

Hello all,

I received my FBI PCC yesterday by the Grace of God Almighty. Here is my timeline,

10/12/2014: Fingerprints Received by FBI
20/3/2015: PCC dispatched by FBI
8/4/2014: PCC received by me

I have good news for all those who want to get the FBI PCC done, it is not as difficult as it seems. I will explain based on a question/answer format.

Common questions:

a. Can you print your FD-258 form yourself?

Yes, I printed on a normal A4 sized card paper.

b. Can you take your fingerprints yourself?

Yes, I took my fingerprints myself and they were accepted by the FBI. I took my fingerprints based on an LEE inkless pad which I purchased from Amazon and got delivered to Saudi Arabia. The inkless pad is the best option because fingerprints are very clear and crisp with it.

c. What is the procedure for taking the fingerprints?

Follow the procedure on the FBI page very carefully and watching the video below take the fingerprints on the card(I took my own fingerprints i.e. only one person was involved not two like in the video below).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7N-4UNAzsw

d. How many fingerprint cards should I fill?

Fill at least 20 cards(try to become an expert in the process). Choose the best four and send them to the FBI.

e. What return address should I fill?

I created an account with www.shopandship.com. They provided me a shipping address in the US. I collected it from Aramex office.

NOTE* I went to the local police station for the fingerprints as well. Although, their ink was much better the police was not very good in taking the fingerprints and I was not satisfied so I took the fingerprints myself at home. The Inkless pad ink is better than even the police station's. All the best guys!

Maybe the above mentioned process is of any help. I posted this earlier on this forum as well.

Since I have never used a livescan, I have no idea what to look out for. From what I have read on the internet, it seems to be a good option for taking fingerprints. I guess clear fingerprints rolled properly with appropriate pressure goes for the paper fingerprints. I am sorry I don't know how the livescan works.

Livescan is electronic scanning. There is a machine on which the technician will roll your fingers and the prints will be visible on the screen above. The software will assess the prints right there if they are OK or NOT (with green or red indicators). After all the prints are done, and are passed by the software, the technician will print them on the standard FD-258 paper. Although in general, these prints can also be sent electronically to FBI, but not for our case.

Yes, I did ask for extension from CIC and they granted me a 2 month extension. Although I am sure I won't get the FBI PCC within that time either, and might have to ask for another one. Will put that request around the end of current deadline.
