FBI Finger Prints

It's really hard to get my fingerprints. There are always areas that appear too light or smudged. I tried to get electronic finger prints through an FBI channeler which kept getting rejected, so I went to two different law enforcement offices and submitted four finger print cards (two from each place I had finger prints done) to the FBI directly. I got a letter saying the finger prints that were submitted were too low quality to be acceptable, with a blank finger print card enclosed to try again. Has anyone else had this problem? What should I do? I thought at least one of the cards (or maybe a combination, since I submitted four cards) would work out. How is one more card going to help? My fingers haven't changed. They will still be the same low quality.

I knew I was going to be difficult to print because I had gotten fingerprinted a while back to get clearance to do some work at a prison. The woman who took my prints at that time said I'd make a great safe cracker since I'd leave no prints. :-[

Ohhh, sorry amikety! What a let down...

I knew it was going to be tough, that's why I went to two different FBI approved places to obtain prints, and got 3 at each place, and picked 4 of the best ones out of the bunch. I really thought they would see how tough it is to get good prints out of me, and maybe be able to see on another set what maybe didn't show well...I'm soooo bummed out. :'(

I emailed the place that did mine. They offered a rejection proof guarantee, so hopefully they'll stick by that and re-do them at no charge. (Still have to pay for the bus ticket since it's downtown grr and new courier. Grrr.)

The guy was really nice over email, so hopefully they'll work with me. I've handled cash most of my adult life - I've heard that runs down ridges. How about you?

I was a cashier for 25 years! I didn't realize that would do that to your fingers! Wow. That is interesting. I found another thread that mentions about fingerprints, in the FBI wait times. I'll post on it to bring it forward. There are some helpful comments there too. If I would have seen that first I wouldn't have started another thread. :

All of these problems would be eliminated once and for all if these people would get off their asses and replace the whole fingerprint system with a LONG-OVERDUE iris scan system or DNA hash.

Fingerprints have a whole slew of problems associated with them - not just the fact that some people have trouble providing good prints.

I know this won't help you guys with your specific issues, but I felt I needed to rant anyway.

In the other thread someone had said to get the officer that takes the prints to write a note saying the prints are had to obtain, best possible, etc, but I think with 4 cards ---plus I included why I submitted four cards, hoping that between the four of them they would be able to make out my prints out of them, CSI would be able to do it, why not the FBI ;D --- so I really don't see what good having an officer write a letter would do.

Well...not ALONE...

I mean...Canada is a huge place...and I'm perfectly willing to have 6 or 7 other people here with me.

But seriously, I'm a product of immigration too. I came to Canada when I was a kid, and I've lived more than 80% of my life here. It's the only place I consider "home", and I'm very protective of it. I have no problem with people wanting to come here, but I want the scammers to be stopped in their tracks. My level of frustration is pretty much equal when I hear of scammers trying to game the system, and also when I hear of Americans having to jump through hoops to come here. I think common sense needs to be applied, and CIC needs to realize that Americans are not trying to flood into Canada by the millions, and when the small handful DO come here every year, they don't pose a threat to national security, nor are they likely to be asking for directions to the welfare line two minutes after landing. I wish the same could be said for everyone else, but I'm very firmly in touch with reality.

If Canada made it easier for Americans, you'd have the rednecks pissed off at Obama flooding the border with their guns and Confederate flags.

Now I'm a southern too, so don't get me wrong, but knives and swords are cooler.

I do think its silly that Canada and the USA don't have a work program laid out. We already have the tax treaty. How about we make it easier to work. I mean how many Canadians/Americans living near the border have family on the other side? 80%? I'm totally not just saying this because I'm dying to get a job!

Damn right.

For the decor, we'd have to set it up exactly like the soup nazi's place. Everyone would line up out the door (yes, even in winter - you gotta want it!), and when you get a total screwup coming in, I'd simply squint my eyes in utter disdain while informing him: "No visa for you! Come back, ONE YEAR!".

Lol. I've been called a 'damn yankee' before. All Americans aren't created equal as all Canadians aren't. I'm proud that I will one day be both.
