Re: FBI Clearances Urgent (approved FBI digital Channeler)

That's strange I got my wife's FBI check through one of the approved FBI digital Channeler (took 4 working days to get), and used it for her application in September. No problems it was accepted. It was identical to the FBI check that would come in the mail from the FBI directly. Although my wife's application was a "rehabilitation application" made at the Canadian border so it was processed by CBSA and CIC. I'm not sure if that makes any difference.

Dear member: Plz can you let me know the name or website of the approved FBI digital channeler that you have applied for FBI report. I know there are several listed at the United States FBI website but it will be good to know the one get accepted by CIC, I needed for ARC(authorization to return to Canada). Actually i already ordered one copy directly from FBI which total took 18 weeks for me to get it but just now this month i come to notice that i might need to send separate United States FBI check to ARC department and one to my immigration officer. My immigration application is at final stage just waiting for this FBI check and ARC so don't want to wait again 18 weeks for another FBI report. Kindly anyone in this forum know the website that take international applications and process quickly as i be applying from Karachi plz let me know,Thanx
This is the one we used. http://www.myfbireport.com/

God, the CIC are a waste of space. They shouldn't even require an FBI check for Americans, they have complete Access to the USA databases, as per the agreement they signed in 2010.

They are basically asking for something they already have, and asking applicants to create redundancies because they don't have faith in their own system (when it comes to a possible positive outcome). Yet when an American comes to the border to visit Canada and they have a misdemeanor, the record that appears with scanning their passport is more than enough to deny them entry.

CIC was only accepting letters from approved Channellers for about 7 weeks earlier this year. Now you must provide an original letter directly from the FBI.

I have seen a few people that have submitted forms from Channelers and later had to get the FBI report...I have seen one or two returned to the applicant as well .....this is what I found on the CIC site just a few mins ago...Citizenship and Immigration Canada does not accept FBI police certificates issued by FBI-approved third party private companies. Only police certificates issued directly by the FBI will be accepted....so if you send it a channeler I would be sending the info indicating you are waiting for the FBI...

I emailed them yesterday asking about my application and very strangely they replied in the same manner as they did before. It seems they have a template created, which they use to respond to all emails. The only thing that changes is the date they mention about opening the packages. On November 18th they were opening the mails received on 24th August and today they are opening mails received on 1st September... some progress! Sad
I needed a confirmation of any sort from them just to tell my case officer that I've already sent my application but these people seem to be sticking to standard replies. I even attached the request letter from the case officer!
I am thinking of calling them ..........and hoping they will be able to provide me with some concrete info.
By the way how much time does it take to get a file number or a case officer assigned to work on my application?....any ideas?

Hi all,

I am a late May applicant, in process since August 6th and received generic batch email on Nov 23rd. My fiance did not get FBI clearance because our attorney advised us to just submit a police certificate and wait to see if they ask us for FBI clearance. We are now feeling like we should've at least started the FBI clearance just in case they ask for it since the processing time is a few months.... My question is, can we go through a third party so it happens sooner or does it HAVE to be directly through the FBI?? Thx in advance

It must go through the FBI but at least it only costs 18.00. So I suggest doing it now just in case it ends up being needed.

OMG Yes do it now...If they request it a 2nd time which they did with us it states send copies of everything that indicates you have submitted the request to the FBI...they will not process your PR without clearance...

I suggest that you send two fingerprint cards, just in case there is an issue with one (or more) prints on the first card.

You won't even know when the FBI has started the process, until you see that your credit card has been charged, since that is the first step in their process (payment upfront, before they do anything). This does NOT mean that the prints have been deemed to be legible, and if they are not, you will get a rejection letter and have to start all over again.

Usually, the cost for a second set of prints is nominal (maybe $10) and in my opinion, is money well spent. Be sure to include a note informing them that the second card is to be used only if needed; you are NOT requesting two separate letters.

OK, that's good to know. Thanks Ponga
