what do you mean "- PR 2 year conditions will be removed"? No need to live in canada for 2 years out of 5 years in order to keep PR status?
No, the conditional PR is coming to an end. At the moment, if your relationship is less than 2 years old, you must continue your relationship for two years after arriving in Canada, or you risk losing your PR. That will no longer be the case.

Condition 51, or conditional PR with the cohabitation rule has been repealed.

Yes, this is correct. the 2 years are known as "condition PR status" so as soon as you land you're a PR without any conditions

Anything in process will come out much faster from the queue. It's first in - first out. Meaning whoever applied first will come out first. So watch applications around your time line.
Let's hope so! :) I still would like to know how this works out with VOs with longer processing times, including ones with higher volumes. Maybe a larger staff will make the processing faster' Or there is a new mandate on service delivery. Atleast from the NDVO thread, it doesn't seem to be FIFO so far, but difficult to determine across any VO as each case is different and unique and it all depends on the officer's perspective.

In any case, the processing and other changes are welcome and let's hope they practice what is now suppose to be "a new process" with shorter processing times.

it will be interesting to see what the new streamlined packet and checklist looks like. I'm wondering if CIC's idea of "easier" is actually going to be easier...

where are you seeing it changed to 12 months for inside of Canada before dec 7? I am getting the same 26 months timeline PRofiler sees. it only suggests 12 months for after dec 7. are you looking at a specific visa office timeline, not inland processing?

I think it may be jumping the gun a bit to assume the CIC website is going to be changed today, right after the announcement. they specifically said any updates will go live online on December 15th. I would assume that also means updating processing times.

I was looking at outland applications as such. And not inland. All the outland applications post Dec 7 seem to reflect 12 months. As far as backlogs are concerned, they have stated specifically most of the applications will be finalized by 2017 end.

The two year condition is referred to those who have conditional 51. They have to live with their sponsor for 2 years. Violating that, they can lose their PR status. Conditional PR are given to PR that have less than 2 years of marriage or common law and have no children. This is to protect the sponsor from potential marriage fraud from PR that want to take advantage of the sponsor. Without this conditional clause, PR can legally leave the sponsor upon landing and there is nothing the sponsor can do about it and be on the hook for any welfare the PR collects.

I guess the Liberals care more about the fraudsters than they do for the victims.

if anyone got their hopes up too sorry.
Keep in mind, even though their introduction is all rosy and hopeful, this will only apply to spousal sponsorship.
