Hi there,

My marital status is divorced. We have a son (I love him so much) from my previous marriage. In my home country kids usually stay with mother after divorce according to law (guess it the same in most countries).

Question: in EE profile - personnel information - Family. There is question about number of family members: spouse/partner, children and their dependent children. Should l put "1", as I do have child or should I leave it blank or put "0", as he is not going to immigrate with me in Canada if I get ITA, AOR and so on..??????
My thoughts I should leave it blank, but just want to know exact answer

You must say 1. Failure to say 1 is misrepresentation (lying in your application).

Member of family that will immigrate with you (that includes you).
If your child is younger than 18 and if you have got right to take care of the child and your wife has agreed that the child will go with you you can put 2. otherwise it is 1.
Good news is that as divorced applicant you will get the same point range as a single applicant.

Got it... Thanks...

Hi,

I am divorced person and I have a child of age 5 living with me. Can I take my son along with me while I get an ITA through Express Entry.?

Hi

Provided you have permission from the other parent or total legal custody from the courts, yes, you can bring your child with you.
