It has already happened. Don't you see cut off score 488? what does that mean. It means only International students and provincial nominees are required at this stage.

More like provincial nominees and LMIA holders only. Not easy to score 485+ (for many international too)

If that happens, Outlanders will have no options.
Stop painting doomsday scenario. Wait a couple of months for the scores to come down. They are taking care of pre-EE backlog and meeting their immigration target with non-EE people.

No, you are wrong as extra points has not yet been awarded to graduates from Canadian Universities;

Nothing is official unless it is on CIC website;

Everyone will need to enter the Express Entry pool (PNP or LMO will have more chance as they will get additional points).

Agree, in the sense of that there are streams for graduates from Canadian universities for provincial nominations.

EXCEPT THAT:

1- OINP Program is closed now.

2- It takes forever.

3- It costs more.

Now it depends on what Canada wants. Do they want people who know the culture, or people who can work better?

I think what's lacking with the Canadian immigration system is a bridging visa program for outland applicants who took their studies in Canada wanting to go PR...there's a similar system in Australia.

Otherwise I think the point system is fair. If they gave more points to international students then the program would have become a pay to win system hehe

If they dont want to give more points for international students that is fine.
Then conduct a round of invitation for just people in Canada working here, after their studies. We were willing to spent money and time to settle here in Canada. We would have stayed in Canada for atleast 3-4 years studying, then trying to find a job then working for 1 year before being able to apply for PR.
How can we be same as somebody who has like 6 year experience in a foreign country?
it will take these people atleast 1 year or even more to settle properly in Canada.
I have seen people with PR, landing here,struggling hard to find a job in their field. I know about people who used to work in a bank in their home country but are working in factories doing manual labor.
I am not saying they should be ignored but we should be given importance too.
Sorry for the rant but i had to say it and this seems like the best possible place to voice it

I agree with you that some people who have never been in Canada struggle but Equality and diversity is strictly observed in Canada; I believe it will make no sense to recruit only within Canada as it defeats the purpose of immigration; By the way, a critic revealed that since the implementation of the Express Entry, most people who got Invitation were already in Canada;

For people employed in Canada, they have additional chance as there are Provincial Nominees;

It is clear that what the government intend to reform is different.

The issue is how much additional points and when it will be implemented?

Let's be realistic here. The purpose of immigration is to gather the best talents for the benefit of Canada's economy. The CRS, while it could use some improvement, allows the government to choose the most economical individuals based on the combination of factors namely age, language capability, job offer, adaptability, and skills.

You could spend millions of dollars to study in Canada but if your skills are not what the country needs...well you what happens next. someone who has never been to canada might end up having a better chance of getting a visa because of his credentials.

It's ok to vent out but it's not ok to downplay other candidate's chances simply because other people have the money to study in Canada :)

Another bestofluck's comment with his second to none logic.

Why it makes no sense to recruit inland applicants? inland applicants are not canadians. They are temp reseidents and also immigrants as diverse as outland ones.

The only advantages of inland applicants are they are already here in Canada for a period of time, so they have better English skills (most of the time) and already have a job and know the way of Canadian way of life.

Let's be pragmatic here, why do you need to take in outland applicants without a job offer while you already have thousands and thousands of inland applicants right here in Canada who are already paying taxes and have established their lives here?
