Hi All,
I am working in Quebec right now.
I have applied through QSWP in 2017 .
Received Documents Request in January and submitted it.
My PGWP will expire in May 2018 .
what are my options ?
Can i extend my work permit by any means ?
I heard from one of my friends that I can get it extended by going to the border with letter from my employer and paystubs . Is it true ?

has anybody done it ?

Do you already have CSQ or are you waiting for CSQ?

If your work PGWP is expiring and you've used the maximum time that PGWP is allowed, you will have to apply for a new, regular closed work permit. If you have CSQ, it is easy as you will be LMIA exempt. Your employer will have to submit a work offer to CIC through employer portal (costs 230 dollars) and give you the work offer number they receive. Then you can apply for the work permit at the border or through MyCIC. If you are not going to have a CSQ by then, it is a bit more complicated. We need to know more about your situation to give more details.

So if your job code is LMIA-exempt you dont need to validate your job offer right ? because mine is also LMIA-exempt if I am not wrong but not sure, mine is 2171(QA Analyst)

how can I know if my NOC code 2171 is LMIA-exempt ? can you please help me.

Sorry, I don't have a fast solution to finding this out. I think you'll just have to figure out if it is a high-demand job or falls in some other category using CIC webpage and google :( Maybe someone else knows a shortcut?

Hi,

How to extend work permit after receiving a CSQ and applied for Federal?

Thank you in advance.
