I had faced this situation with IELTS (took through IDP). I had an overall of 8.5 with 9 in reading, 9 in Listening, 8.5 in Speaking and 6.5 in Writing. I believed I had not done so bad n Writing so I applied for revaluation, but to be on the safe side, I applied for another test as well. After a couple of weeks, my score in Writing got increased to 7.5 and they refunded the revaluation fee. But I had already spent another 10k on booking the test again, which they said they couldn't refund. To salvage something out of this, I asked them to change my General test to Academic in case I can use it in the future.
If you are sure you didn't do so bad, go for revaluation.
Thanks Parry, incase I take a second test, would the latest ielts score be considered or I can use best out of the two for my application?

You can use any of the scores as long as it is valid.

Many thanks! Just another query... How many days did it take them to revert with your re-val?

Hi, I had applied for revaluation in last week of March and got the revised report on 7th May, so it took around 6 weeks.

If your IELTS results were issued recently (within the last 2 weeks, I think), you can ask to have them remarked.
Oh Well. I realize that I am out of time period for remarking!! my Bad :-(
Did not do enough research earlier.

Now only option is retaking the test. So back to my question. Is it worth it? :) If I do well, I can get 57 additional point.

Absolutely disappointed!

Got my IELTS result today. Scored 8 in all sections, except for 6.5 in writing. With this IELTS score, I shall get 390 CRS points, which is of course not at all enough!

Could you guys kindly suggest/guide me on way-forwards? I can opt for revaluation but then it takes more than a month and during this time I believe I cannot enter the pool. Sitting for another test is another alternative but honestly, I cannot find enough courage to go through the grueling routine again! However, if it is a must then I have no choice.
You should definitely go for remarking or taking the test again. It should get you additional 50 odd points, which will take you closure to 450 cut-off.

I have calculated again, and I see that I can go upto maximum of 421 with all the maximum points available and about 364 without retaking it.

Thanks for your revert.

That's my dilemma... revaluation or retest?

Also, can someone inform if I can make my EE profile while having sent the docs for reval? just not to miss any PNPs/ Job offers.

Revaluation is a lot cheaper.

Doesn't matter who said it - there was no draw last Wednesday. If your consultant said that, I guess its time to fire him.
Hi there!!

I am soo happy!! I got an invitation today!!!!

How easy do you think it is to submit the documents and go through the next steps without a consultant?

Thanks.

Hi Seniors I have query with my APR,

In my previous study permit and work permit applications to CIC I have identified my aunt (mother's sister) who lives in a different province and is a citizen of Canada.

To keep information consistent I mentioned that in my EE profile and that is populated in my APR now.

I learnt just now that Proof of relationship to a relative in Canada, status of a relative in Canada and residence status of a relative in Canada is needed to be provided by the primary applicant (which is me)

some of the document requirements listed will be difficult for me to provide,

- Evidence that the family member currently resides in Canada must be provided (a residential lease, mortgage documents, utility bills, etc.).
The documents should be up to date as of six months prior to submission.

- Proof of the relationship of the applicant or the spouse or common-law partner to the family member must also be provided (e.g., a birth certificate, an official document naming the applicant as a parent, a copy of the inside back cover of the relative’s passport showing the relative’s parents).

I can ask her for the utility bills but she is a home maker and all the utility bills are on her husband's name.

Proof of relationship to the family member (it's my mother's sister) I don't have any document connecting me with her?

I don't want any points for the relative, I entered the info to be consistent with my previous applications.

Can I submit a letter of explanation that I cannot provide this proofs and do not wish to be awarded any points for these?

Please advise.

If you're willing to put in the work and effort do it yourself.

Unless you have a difficult case I would always advice against having a consultant, those a-holes only want your money.

Hey guys, my dad has inactive tb and needed medical surveillance but the officer at the port of entry didn't ask for the medical surveillance form and my dad forgot to present it. So now it's not stamped. Has anyone been in a situation like this?

I found your answer in 2 seconds.

Google is your friend.
There are a lot of irrelevant and confusing stuff on google regarding Canadian immigration and the reason I posted here was because I was not able to find a proper answer, think of it as my inability to search for the right answer or inability to comprehend but I don't want to mess up my APR by trusting unknown random info on google xyz link especially having messed up applications before.

I appreciate your suggestion anyway.

Can anyone else please help me find what I am looking for? Thanks.
