Hi Stanlee,

My father will provide me with half of the funds that I may need (provided I get an ITA) in the near future, but he's not put it in my account as of yet and looks like it may be a few more months before he can do that. My question is what proof would suffice that these funds are gift from my father to me and are unencumbered. My concern is that they wouldn't have been sitting in my account long enough to satisfy CIC's funds availability requirement -- from what I hear they look at 6 months bank statements.
A gift can come in at any point in time. You would need -

1) A gift deed
2) Proof of credit into your account
3) Proof of debit from your father's account
4) A letter from your father telling that the funds are for you to keep and he doesn't expect it back.

Hi,

My wife is the primary applicant and we got our ITA on 19 October 2016. Our application was in my wife's maiden name as we were in the process of changing name in all the documents. We received her new passport with her new name and new passport number on the day of ITA. Now, the ITA has been issued with earlier details.

Can someone please help us with -
1. Whether we need to change her details in the application? If yes, at what stage?
2. Also, we are unable to locate the 'Permanent Residency' tab (mentioned in the ITA letter) to generate our personalised checklist and begin with this process? Is it under 'Continue Application' tab?

Thanks
Click on continue application, once you fill all the personal details click continue and you will see the page where you can upload your documents.

Cheers, ;)

Hey but then on clicking 'Continue Application' tab, the pre-filled application shows my wife's maiden details. So should I change these details here or continue?

1) See if you can change the name in your application (I think it is possible - Click on the "Modify Family Information" and then enter the updated last name).

2) The personalized checklist will be generated only after you complete all the forms.

I'm a single applicant so I can't really help with that question.

However, just to let you know you can always go back and edit those details even after clicking continue to see the document checklist. Everytime you log in you'll be able to see the personal details.

Also, if you want to avoid any possible issues remember that you're allowed to write a Letter of Explanation regarding anything that might be a problem with your application. That is, you can explain the change of your wife's name ;)

Absolutely disappointed!

Got my IELTS result today. Scored 8 in all sections, except for 6.5 in writing. With this IELTS score, I shall get 390 CRS points, which is of course not at all enough!

Could you guys kindly suggest/guide me on way-forwards? I can opt for revaluation but then it takes more than a month and during this time I believe I cannot enter the pool. Sitting for another test is another alternative but honestly, I cannot find enough courage to go through the grueling routine again! However, if it is a must then I have no choice.

Guys,
Could you please clarify something.
I started overanalyzing my application...
I have 8 months of work experience in NOC 8232 and 1 year and 11 months in NOC 2131.
My CRS score in the system is 471 based on the fact that I have more than 2 years (and less than 3 years) of work experience cumulatively.
Now I started to doubt if my 8-month experience in NOC 8232 is in Skill Level D... If yes, my work experience in Skill Level A is less than 2 years by one month. How come I get 471 points then?

Am I somehow misrepresenting myself?

8232 is skill level B.

Thanks a lot, istari!
Could you please also clarify one thing. On this page (Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) - tool) it asks:

6) Work Experience
ii. How many years of skilled foreign work experience do you have? It must have been continuous, paid, full-time (or an equal amount in part-time), and in only one occupation.
I have 1 year and 11 months in one occupation and 8 months in the other. However, the system assigned me the score as if I had two years (which I have in total and not in one occupation but two).
Where am I wrong?

You must have 1 year of continuous work experience.
If you meet the 1 year minimum, all your other work can be cumulative.

So you are right to claim points for 2+ years.

Quick question on GCMS notes

Is it safe to get gcms notes through so many sites shared on this forum. They can have all of your personal information and misuse it, only reason I'm thinking on these lines is there is hardly any information on who is running these sites and how much trustworthy they are. I know thousands of people request gcms notes but wanted to understand how people think about misuse of personal information available with them.

Hi Seniors,

My situation is some like below

IELTS - Done
WES Equivalency - 2 bachelors (I have to challenge since my alumni in past have received the same as Masters - either directly or after challenging)
CRS with 2 bachelors - 466
CRS with Masters - 473

Please advice if I should waste time in getting masters equivalency or wait for score to drop till 466. It might be a risk.

Has anyone here got his WES re-evaluated successfully? If yes, kindly share the procedure.

Thanks.

Hope this helps few on the Forum.

I received a AOR mail with File Number from OINP few days back and on contrary in receiving a mail of ack and AOR letter with file number and case number separately.

But the AOR contains date from July 2016 whereas I received mail few days back regarding DD outdated. I am not quite sure, why I didn't receive the AOR long back. Happy to see one at least one now though! and sent a address ack mail to receive outdated DD.

The mail goes as below:

This letter acknowledges that the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) received your nominee application package on January xx, 2016. Your application was reviewed to confirm that it is complete and has been forwarded for assessment. OINP will notify you when your application moves to the assessment phase and again when your application moves to the decision phase. You will also be contacted directly should we require any additional information to assess your application. Applications to the OINP are processed on a first come, first served basis. Please be advised that the program is currently in receipt of a large volume of applications and processing times are longer than usual. Sincerely, Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program Ministry of Citizenship, Immigration and International Trade Government of Ontario
