The whole idea of flagpoling is for you to leave the country (IF you are already in Canada) and re-entering it so that you can activate a new immigration document (in this case your PR). You cannot do a landing in Canada without leaving US.
Gotcha....Silly question from my side then..Thanks a bunch.

Exactly... How can one LAND in Canada without going to Canada!

I live in USA. Can someone tell me if its possible to do flagpoling at USA - Canada border without leaving USA? Which port of entry will you recommend? Rainbow bridge, peace bridge, etc.

What exactly are you worried about? If you have the VISA and CoPR then you can just leave the US enter Canada and you're DONE! Why would you be refused? The US border will not refuse your exit and with PR VISA and CoPR you won't be refused entry into Canada either.

Is this PR visa a single entry visa? If I have to go to my home country after I land as a PR and before I get my PR card, what are the possibilities?

You might use a friend's address for CIC to mail the PR card to. And then ask him/her to mail it to you in your home country by FedEx or something reliable because you cannot lose it.

Otherwise, you will need a PR travel document:

But I don't know how to solve the residency obligation required to apply for the travel document. So you might really have only one option: to ask a friend to mail it to you.

I will have to talk to an IRCC agent regarding the obligation. Do you know the processing time of this PR travel document?

Hi Guys,

Once we receive the e mail for PPR does it mean that nor PR is guarantied or is there still something that can go wrong for your application to be refused?

hey can u share more light on this? I haven't reached that stage yet. I waiting for my COPR. Can we do soft landing without leaving USA? Like turning around at port of entry without going through USA customs and immigration?

If you are in Canada then you don't really have to go the border to do the landing. it can be done at one of the offices here.

You satisfy residency obligation because you only have to stay in Canada for 2 years in a 5 year period. As long as you show you have met that OR as long as there is still at least 2 years left in the 5 year period, you will be issued a PRTD. Don't worry too much about it. Also, if you have your PR card mailed to you or if someone's travelling, they can bring it to you (with authorization), you'll not need a PRTD to return to Canada!
