i Guys,

I have one question regarding our status in Canada.We have got AOR on Nov 18 under CEC. Both me and my wife were on workpermit here (I had a closed WP and my wife had an openWP). These were expiring on May 31, 2016.On May 27, 2016 my wife's company applied for her LMIA application and simultaneously applied for her WP and my visitor visa. These were paper based application with a processing time of 100 days.This was done so that by the time WP application is processed there would be an answer for the LMIA application and we would be able to stay here on implied status. My wife's LMIA was approved in August and she got her WP in september. It says that the WP is in force from September 15, 2016. Similarly my visitor record is in force from October 10, 2016. Smy question is that we dont have anything to show for our status from May 31, 2016 till Sept 15, 2016 for my wife and Oct 10, 2016 for me. Can this create any problem for our application now? We did not write anything for this missing period when we were on implied status. Is there anything that I can or should do now or I should just wait and watch.

No, this shouldn't be an issue. Implied status = Legal Status. What might cause an issue is being "out of status". Since you never went out of status, you should be good to go!

Thanks Raj. So its just understood that we were on implied status, I dont have to provide any kind of documents or a letter of explanation.

No, IMO but if they ask for an explanation, you can outline your situation in a LOE and provide whatever proof you have (proof of LMIA application showing the date etc) to prove that you were never out of status.

Some applicants have been facing this issue lately. Logout, clear cache, try incognito mode or even a different browser. Still you do not get the option, upload individual LOEs with documents in relevant sections.

Japanese PCC

Hi,

I received a mail from CIC on 23 Nov 2016 asking for Japanese PCC where I stayed for about 2 years. I had previously applied for the same when I got the ITA.

Today I received the Japanese PCC, but the Japanese consulate has instructed me not to open it and directly send it using Courier to Canada.

Is this the correct procedure for Express Entry.

Today I received the Japanese PCC, but the Japanese consulate has instructed me not to open it and directly send it using Courier to Canada.

Is this the correct procedure for Express Entry.

Unless and otherwise explicitly mentioned by IRCC, you have to upload the PCC in your myCIC account.

If you see a new placeholder in your myCIC account, you can upload it there.

Do I need to provide a Police Certificate for Express Entry?
Yes. If you are Invited to Apply (ITA) for Permanent Residence, you need to upload a police certificate in your Electronic Application for Permanent Residence (e-APR). Please follow the instructions above to get your police certificate.
NOTE: CIC will not accept police certificates sent by mail for Express Entry applications.

If the issuing authority procedure is to send the police certificate directly to the IRCC office, please refer them to the following address.

And the Sealed Japanese Envelope Says:

To be opened by addressee only. The addressee is - The Authorities Concerned, Canada
(Content : Certificate of Criminal Record)

Is there any way to contact CIC and ask them what to do as they have also provided an upload link. Shall I upload the scan copy of the envelope and a letter telling that it has been couriered as asked by Japanese Consulate.

IMO, you can upload the letter online and submit it.
