if you are applying from within canada, you dont need canadian pcc.

if you are applying from outside, you will need pcc from ALL countries you resided for 6 months or more including your current country of residence/ origin.

Thank you.

I just read exactly what you said, including that if the CIC requires a Canadian Police Certificate, they'll ask for it while processing the application.

Guys, I submitted my application at the beginning of April. At that time the rule about pcc is 3 months. I had a fbi pcc but it was older than 3 months. I did apply for new fbi pcc in January. But it took more than 14 months. So I was worried about not being able to send it within 60 days. So I submitted the old one with letter of explanation and a few photocopies of the new pcc applications. I got AOR after that.

Since some of you guys mentioned up there that when we submitted the application, the rule was still 3 months. And thus this still might jeopardize the application. So I used Case Specific Inquiry (https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx?_ga=1.79639636.1754338549.1421514680) to submitted my newer PCC which I got several days ago. But then I saw here(http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=326&t=23)

Can I send a new document after I submit my online visa application?

No. Once you have submitted your online application, you cannot send more documents to support your application unless a CIC officer asks for them.

It is important to include all the necessary information when you submit your application the first time. You can provide more information in the "Add letter of explanation" row when you are uploading your documents.

If an officer asks for a document, you will get a notification in your My Messages box in MyCIC.

What do you think? ??? Is this gonna ruin my application? My ME was passed but my BC still didn't start so I'm really worried currently...

Hi Variazioni,

I don't think this would be a problem for CIC. If they change the PCC rule now, I cannot imagine they would refuse an application with a PCC which would be valid according to the new rules and with an explanation letter.
I'm also still waiting to submit an extra PCC for my wife from Thailand.
At the time of gathering all the documents, it was still mandatory to submit the Thai PCC, but shortly before submitting I noticed it was not required anymore at time of submitting the application. Since I only had a 1 year old PCC I didn't submit that one, but added an explanation that the new Thai PCC has been requested.
Today I received the new PCC, but I'll guess I'll have to wait until asked to submit that.

Hi Muzamil,

I submitted my RCMP clearance cert. and PCC from back home. RCMP CC cost around $60 and you will receive it in mail 2-3 weeks. If you want to submit it, no harm and it is valid for 6 months.

Good luck!

Re: Rejected due to expired police clearance.

fonteynb, Thank you for your fast reply. But this is my concern:

I got my application rejected this morning:

Your application is rejected for being incomplete.
Specifically, your application does not include the following elements:
- Police Certificate
Police certificates from China for PA and spouse older than six months from the lock-in date.
Note: A full review of your application was not performed. There may be other elements, not identified above, which may also be missing or incomplete.

Does anybody in similar situation here? It appears I have to resubmit my application again. Isn't it easier for both CIC and candidates to simply resubmit an renewed document?
kubuqi is currently in China. VO didn't even ask for a new PCC and just refused him straight away. This really worries me.

Is it true that CIC refuses EE application with PCC which is 3 months or older? I heard one EE applicant received a refusal letter for having a 4 month old PCC
lotus_abbey, is kubuqi's case what you meant? If it's not, could you provide more details? Such as where did you see that case? When? And did that applicant mentioned specifically that the reason of refusal is 4 months old PCC? Thank you!!

Hi guys, this discussion about pcc really scares me so I'm gonna upload the pcc I just got recently. My question is:

How would you provide this to them? How to use the Case Specific Inquiry?

I checked U.S. visa office but still really confused. :-X

This PCC issue worries me too as I already known the fact that the rule has been modified last 23April but not pretty sure if it's only applicable to applications received after that date as CIC already processing applications prior to that date. With the many incident of CIC agents not giving accurate answers this worries me a lot!
You should send the original PCC to the case processing center handling your application

Awesome. Thank you for the information. I have waited quite sometime for the submission and can't wait no more. For now I only have my PCC from UAE and England. If CIC asks for it, I'll get it done. I have all the information. It takes 2 -3 working days, which is alright. I rather save the money now and only do it if CIC asks.

Good luck to all of us.

Well if you read the rejection text, it specifies that the PCC from China was more then 6 months old, which is according to the new rule. Since he is in China according to the new rule the the PCC of the country you currently live in should be not older then 6 months.
So it looks it was rejected since it was not within the new rules. The previous rules were even stricter with only 3 months

I don't think you have a reason to worry. If CIC has specified the Effective date, then you might have a reason to worry. Since they haven't specified a effective date you are ok. It will be applicable to all the Applications currently with CIC

That makes lots of sense!! kubuqi said he submitted his application on March 26th, definitely before the rule was changed in April. I feel a lot more relieved now. Thanks!!! ;)

No this is the police certificate NBI from the Philippines. The applicant sent NBI which is 4 months old the CIC refused his application for sending expired PCC.
This really sucks!
