Remember that GCMS whole concept is that your application can be accessed from any where and by any office if its assigned to a VO in their queue for processing. So, it balances the work load of CIC Offices across the globe. So, Im not surprised on thisApplicantApril2015 said:CIC updated on weekend?
and this is an assumption or u read it on CIC - that any office can process any file?jaffa83 said:Remember that GCMS whole concept is that your application can be accessed from any where and by any office if its assigned to a VO in their queue for processing. Usually Canada or any country will not open their Immigration related internal databases to be accessed from another country.jaffa83 said:Remember that GCMS whole concept is that your application can be accessed from any where and by any office if its assigned to a VO in their queue for processing. So, you mean when a person has a Work permit issued here in Canada cannot get his TRV from his own Country? Should the VISA office abroad can have the right to access this application or not?rasber said:Usually Canada or any country will not open their Immigration related internal databases to be accessed from another country.
So my best guess is when VO make any change, these changes will sit in their local database until a scheduled over night batch job runs and updates the central database. This will be an automatic process and not necessarily involving manual intervention. In this case a scheduled weekend job might have updated the GCMS.

Good information Jaffa.jaffa83 said:So, you mean when a person has a Work permit issued here in Canada cannot get his TRV from his own Country? Should the VISA office abroad can have the right to access this application or not?
I have my new renewed WP issued in Canada and has to go back to my home country for a family emergency, as I do not have the TRV at that time, but when I sent my TRV application to the Visa office they stamped it. So, did they access my file or not, to issue my TRV?
But I agree to your point about the Batches that run often on the weekends. However, this would have triggered for majority of our cases as well. But why it doesn't triggered for the others?
Doubt that as wellrasber said:Good information Jaffa.
While GCMS can be accessed globally I am not sure if inland immigration applications will be processed in overseas VOs.
I could not get the specific ref link. But it was one year from the issue date. Having said that it is better to be on the safer side and consider it has 6 months validity (as it cannot be more than 6 months before you apply, if you are in Canada).mam2015 said:Hi niagary, thanks for the info. I was actually trying to find out any written document that indicates the validity is one year. Can you please provide me any source for that?

Page 3:
1. What type of work permit applying for? - I chose open work permit.
2. Details of my prospective employer (attach original offer of employment)
a. Name of employer
b. Address of employer
c. Intended location of employment in Canada
d. My occupation in Canada will be
e. Duration of expected employment
I do not have a new offer letter. I do not know what to fill in. So what should one fill in? How the members dealt with it?
Another Q: Employment Details exceed the space provided - so what should I do?
Could you please provide information related to above urgently.
