Hi All,
last December I was given a 1 year exclusion order from Canada (I am from the US). I opted not to apply for an ARC and to just stayed away for 1 year. Now that the exclusion order is almost up, I am wondering what paperwork is needed to be able to go return for a visit? I have heard that there is something that is needed, but it is not an ARC. Any ideas of what this could be? I would like to go there on vacation for 2 weeks, and plan to bring my pay stub, lease and have a return ticket to show I have strong ties and plan to come back. Any advice from people who have returned after their exclusion order has expired is greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!

At http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/inadmissibility/arc.asp it says:

a) If you were issued an Exclusion Order and

* 12 months have passed since you left Canada and
* you have a Certificate of Departure (IMM 0056B) showing the date you left Canada you do not need an ARC. You may return to Canada subject to normal examination at the port of entry.

So as long as you have the Certificate of Departure which you should have gotten as you left, you can just try to enter normally. Another option would be to apply for a visit visa. If you are visa exempt, you don't have to but you still could. With a visit visa in hand, the embassy has already decided that you are ok to visit so you would be less likely to have problems as you enter.
