I didn't see any such question. It only asks if the studies were full-time. I could try with saying that my PhD is part-time, since we are not supposed to take any coursework. It's pure research and working as a Teaching Assistant.ImmiToCanada said:The language results are very good. I suspect that somewhere you have to indicate that your NOC4012 experience were gained while you were NOT doing full time studies. I remember there is some questions like "did you do full time studies while working"? You need to check NO.
CIC define full time studies as having classes >=12 hours per week. As PhD students you can easily shown that you were not taking that many classes per week with your transcript.
No, I haven't yet. From what I read, you don't have to do that right? Is it mandatory to get them assessed beforehand? The problem is, by the time I get my degrees assessed, I'll have a break between Jobs. I'm finishing up my PhD and there might be break of a month or two till I find another job.ddlykitten said:Did you get your education assessed?

It is mandatory to have ECA. You have to do ECA before applying to EE. Otherwise, it will show ineligible.ifkay said:No, I haven't yet. From what I read, you don't have to do that right? You might need one to be eligible since you didn't have any Canadian experience so you were only considered as FSWifkay said:No, I haven't yet. From what I read, you don't have to do that right? ifkay said:Ah damn! So, I need the assessment beforehand? Well, that's not good because then I'll probably have a break between jobs so then I have to apply next year after working 12 more months.
Thank you very much for all the help. The break is because I'm finishing up PhD this month, and I am taking a 2 month break before I start a new job.ImmiToCanada said:You just need to send some documents or ask your previous colleges to send your transcript to the designated institutes for the assessment. This is no necessary need for you to break between jobs to finish that assessment
It does not matter if you have a break, your experience as a TA will still be valid.ifkay said:Thank you very much for all the help. The break is because I'm finishing up PhD this month, and I am taking a 2 month break before I start a new job.
I didn't do assessment beforehand. I did it after creating EE profile, but before entering the EE pool. That shouldn't be the cause of you being ineligible.ifkay said:Ah damn! For me it put me as eniligible when I said that I did not do the ECA. As soon as I got my ECA and did the exact same profile again I was eligible. So I don't know.res1 said:I didn't do assessment beforehand. I did it after creating EE profile, but before entering the EE pool. That shouldn't be the cause of you being ineligible.
